Mount Blanc..leaking.

I have the Mount Blanc classic black pen. It is the big one, I forget the name.
I have the broad blue ink refills in it.

They leak ! Everyday I go to use it, there is a small blob of ink at the tip, messes up my signing/usage. I have to clean it off everyday...

I went to Mount Blanc to get more refills, thinking I just had a bad set of two...

They did not believe me. Sold me a new pack of two....
They leak too.

The shop said "you should store the pen upside down"

Really? I missed that in their marketing.. "Our nice pens leak, store them upside down to minimize problems"

I pointed out to them that NONE of the pens in their shop were displayed upside down...

Anyone else have a leaking problem with ink in broad/blue ?

Thanks

I take it you are talking about ball points or rollerballs or something other than real fountain pens? Some additional information would help.

X2. Look at the packaging for the model or post some pics.

I'm sorry too. Don't use ball points but have seen ink in the tips of all I know of regardless of brand.

Well, I looked around on line and see people using a different refill (aftermarket) "Mountverde"... ordered that, and will see if they dont glob/leak.

Mont Blanc Daniel Defoe leak

I have a Mont Blanc Daniel Defoe which I bought just over 3 years ago. It has been in regular, though not exactly strenuous use, being well cared for / kept in a pen case. It recently sprang a leak - with ink seeping out of the join between the thread and the barrel.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with either a Daniel Defoe or any other MB that does not have a screw on barrel?

I don't have MB ballpoints, nor use them. I do however use Monteverde double Broad refills in my Caran d'Ache ballpoints. And let me tell you Monteverde rocks!
More economical to buy and work 100% of the time without problems.
Try an aftermarket refill.
good luck!

Sounds like two issues need to be addressed. First is the actual leak but also there is a seal that is letting air pass as well. It could be one of several different seals but will need to be identified.

Take the pen to a Boutique and they can send the pen back to Montblanc to get an estimate of repair costs.
