I'll check for you tomorrow. I am pretty sure that they will give you 10% off on that. No sales tax here as well.

I bought this exact watch pictured by Lubrifur two days ago and took it back today. I thought the SS version would make a good "casual" watch to compliment my TT DJ with an oyster bracelet. Unfortunately, I found fault with it enough that I traded it in for another Rolex.

This is just my opinion/impression but I love the new Jubilee bracelet and the SS version just doesn't do it justice. The polished links are almost lost (not that visible as a contrast).

What really bothered me was the movable bezel. I thought it was a neat feature and that was a big reason for selecting the TOG. However, the black marks are small and with the white gold bezel being fluted, almost any light created a reflection that all but made the marks unreadable. It might be different with a yellow gold bezel but I didn't compare them.

I also thought the baton marks were not that visible against the white dial but this might be an unfair judgement, as I'm partial to the raised roman numerals. A black dial might be a better contrast with the SS.

Overall, I was just disappointed with the SS version and thought it was a little plain looking. However, to be fair my wife thought it looked okay..

I traded it for a rose gold TT DJ with a black dial and raised romans and a Jubilee bracelet. I absolutely love this one and it's definitely not going back.

I don't know if this is any help and it's only my opinion. If you like the SS TOG go for it but I would encourage you to check out all the different versions of it.

Thank you John for your reply. I was not quite expecting a negative review, but I truly appreciate your honest opinion as it definitely helped!

If I understand correctly, the only white gold on this version of TOG is the fluted bezel while the case and jubilee bracelet are stainless? I can definitely related to the light reflection of the bezel, my YG DD does exactly the same thing under bright (indoor/outdoor) conditions. Now with the markings on the bezel, a bit hard to tell whether they are indented as I have not seem the watch in person, can you please clarify? On a similar note, are the stick markers raised or flat?

I do think as well that a black dial might make readability easier, I guess any given dial is easier to read compare to my YG DD which has champagne dial with gold hands and black stick markers!

Thanks again.

True, but there are occasions when I want to dress down my watch. I am actually seriously considering an Omega Seamaster 2252.50.00 instead.

Hi T,

Sorry for "bad mouthing" the TOG but I was very disappointed with it. Partly because I had lusted after it for so long. A while back I had to choose between it and a TT DJ and went with the TT. After doing so, I kept going back to the Rolex site to view the SS TOG until I finally decided I just had to have it too.

Quite frankly I didn't pay that much attention to the black markings on the bezel but I think they are just a black material in an indention. Besides being unreadable in certain lighting, I thought they were also too small but that consideration is limited by the size of the bezel. And yes, the bezel is WG which, as you know is quite reflective.

The stick markers are raised and that's another thing I forgot to mention. I don't have any experience with the Rolex luminous markers but I thought the luminous part could have been bigger. I only tested it once in the store, holding it very close to an intense light and it seemed okay but the markers were small. After getting home, I checked it again in normal lighting conditions and there was only a faint glow. Maybe my luminous expectations were too high but I don't have any experience with this.

By all means, try the SS TOG on and I would recommend checking the bezel in a hard light to see how reflective it can be. Overall it's the same Rolex quality as all their others and I was just disappointed in some of the features.

Let me know if I can offer anything else.

Let there be no doubt about that. Does anyone think its too sporty to go with a suit? I think it'd be a good compliment for my Sub in that respect...

Absolutely not, Jamie. I purchased mine about two weeks ago, specifically with a view to wearing it at the office and I am thrilled with it!

Cheers

I finally saw a SS black dial with jubilee bracelet (116264430) at Rolex in Wynn Resort in LV and wow, what a stunning beauty! I think with this particular model, it fits quite well with any occassion.

I like the black and blue dials! They really set the red seconds hand and red dates off, IMO.

Mine is with the blue dial and agree, it is a very sharp backdrop against the red.

Like the saying goes "Different Strokes for Different Folks"

The TOG just doesn't do it for me. IMHO, it's trying to be something (Sports watch) that it's not. The DJ is much better suited for the fluted bezel.
I'm sure everyone that has one enjoys it, and I'm just glad there is more than one flavor
