If you steam your hot dog rolls in beef-onion broth, a good hot dog becomes great.

Yep, Sahlens in Buffalo, Zweigles in Rochester. Love them both!
And, if you go one more city to the east, in Syracuse the local favorite is Hoffmans, which is also a great dog.

Truthfully zweigles makes a much better dog but there’s something simple about sahlens that hits the spot.
I'm old enough to remember when Buffalo (my hometown) had three local dogs........ Sahlen, Wardynski and Szelagowski !

I usually grill up Hebrew Nationals. Then, I'll pair them up with a can of Varsity chili, toasted buns, and mustard. PERFECTION!

LOL, taste test against what ?!? the only way that dog could be edible would be in a crock pot full of sauerkraut and only them if you had Webers mustard !

When in Detroit, try the Coney's at Lafayette Coney Island - a true Landmark. The classic coney dog is served with chili, onions and mustard.

The ‘original’ classic Coney Island dog can be found in Coney Island Brooklyn, NY. and still the best. I’ll take mine with Kraut and mustard
