Dress Patek watches on larger wrists..... please share pics!

Hello
I am waiting on a 5905P to show up soon from my AD but want to add a “dressy” calatrava
My dilemma is that I have a 7.6” wrist (here’s a pic with one of my “smaller” diameter watches for reference”

I am looking at calatrava dress watches in the 38mm or 39mm range. Tried a few at my AD but feels small on my wrist

If you have large wrist (7.5” or larger) please post pics for reference and comparison
Thank you!

I think that most Patek dress watches will look small on your wrist. I have a 6.5 inch wrist and my Calatrava fits well. That is a big difference in wrist size. Even that Daytona looks small.

It’s tough during the pandemic, but you have to try them on in person to know. If you already did that and they look small, they probably are small. It’s also good to bring a spouse or loyal friend for advice. Some ADs will tell you everything looks great.

They are not really dress watches, but I seriously recommend Panerai. They make Radiomirs that look neat and they have 44mm and up, I believe.

digging through some files now, but have owned a 3468 and although i liked the smaller look on my wrist in my early watch collecting days, i now feel that i could pretty much never go under 40mm again.

i even just decided to go for a 44m Grand Seiko instead of replacing my old submariner.
here is a 42mm Grand Lange for some reference though.
wrist about 7 3/4"

hey but i think the flat surface is what counts not the overall.
not to mention it depends how you wear your watch. i ride mine a little lower. if you wear them higher generally a smaller watch will do.
so definitely try some on to be sure.
and smaller usually means less $$$$ :)

In my experience the large empty dials make basic 38/39mm Patek dress pieces wear bigger than the 40mm white dial 116500. On my smallish 6.6 inch wrists I find the 38mm 5296 and 39mm 5227 quite large whereas the 116500 works ok.

Find a 5524 or 5522. I have the same Problem as you. I own a 5905 and that is a good size. Other than anything 42mm, I find it difficult to wear Patek dress watches.

For my big wrist AL&S pieces wear better than PP. 5070 and 5168g are exceptions. Also 5124j, though small, works as a dressy choice.

FWIW and IMHO all of these look great on your wrist. Sure, some are smaller than others, but that’s the thing about smaller watches: I find that a big wrist with a smaller watch looks OK — perhaps elegant and unassuming — whereas a watch that is too large for a wrist just looks completely out of place.
