So you can ask for dial swaps during service? You buy a dial? Or is it a swap?

I love the simple sublime purity of several of the Calatrava line. Since “entry level” it doesn’t bother me that papers are not mine as original owner.
For some reason to me for any high end Patek I’d want the manufacturer to have me as the original owner...not sure why that is an issue for me.
It’s like Ferrari...for some reason knowing that the VIN for that car has your name attached back in Maranello adds that slight extra “X” factor.

5235G Annual Calendar Regulator (now replaced by the R). It's an acquired taste and a bit quirky but so am I, and to date it is my only Patek (but hoping for more in the future)

Quick question...if buying some of these models from an AD, how much, if any, can one negotiate for off MSRP?

I would say between 10-20% off MSRP. Closer to 20% if the reference is stagnant and no possibility of being sold

Depends, I’ve never got any discount and some of the pieces being discussed aren’t even current.

Awesome! Wow something about that model just really does it for me. Actually, a few things. I love the size, I love the lume, and I really like the rose gold version as the dial and case just look so warm!

They have done dial swaps before but the only problem is your watch doesn’t match the birth certificate. I tend to think this doesn’t happen as much if at all now though. AP was pretty liberal in letting people create frankenwatches too but again haven’t seen posts on either brand doing this in years.
