Glad to see your racing roach is doing well... with all of the new restrictions in the league and the cost of training, I have retired my roach and downgraded to the Stink Bug Leagues. I just wasn't having a winning season.

With all the money I saved during the first lockdown, this second time around will be double. I hope to visit his site soon.

Bingo.

David has been a cornerstone at TRF for many years.

I remember — over a decade ago — David personally drove to deliver a watch to me. Twice actually. And once he even gave me his own screwdriver kit for sizing bracelets...back in the days when I didn’t know how :)

Other examples that David is a true gentleman:
- He has sent me a watch before I paid for it
- He has paid me for a watch before he received it
- He knew I was looking for a watch and emailed me about one he found months after the fact

I reject the notion that David is an opportunist, in the negative connotation, more than any other investor. I have dumped big bucks into the market in the last 6-9 months based on my understanding of the fundamentals. David does the same thing with timepieces. Smart money makes money, period.

Those who can’t tolerate that, some advice: 1) don’t buy from the middle market and 2) go live somewhere where capitalism isn’t allowed.

My money and loyalty go to those who earn it....and David’s THE MAN

The Trusted Sellers are amazing; I've purchased 2 watches from David and will continue to do so (with numerous conversations with SD Watches, OC Watch Guy and Takuya).

You cannot cheer the greys when their prices are lower than MSRP and then bash them when they take advantage of a free market and raise their prices. They have to run a business too.

100%. Not to mention taking on the risk of carrying inventory and overhead. It’s a free market if anyone wants to jump in and do it themselves.

They are opportunistic and just because he supports this forums means little. He is in business to make money and this happens to be an avenue.

I guarantee he (and the other grays) has PLENTY of inventory just not listed because the above is dead on. The new stuff will get listed and you watch (pun intended) at higher prices.

If by sales you mean a price increase then you will get your wish. There will be ZERO sales from grays unless of course you want some lug that no one else wants either.

Sorry to hear that.

The prestige of playing in the "bigs" is intoxicating. In fact I'm intoxicated most of the time.

But I'm sure there's still a lot of fun to be had in the minors.

I will second this. In 2010 when I sent my 116610LN FedEx overnight with cash I immediately emailed him the confirmation. He called me shortly after and told me that he got the tracking info and sent my Hulk overnight. The initial agreement was to get my part of the deal first and then send my watch which was very understandable as this was my first transaction through TRF. Stand up gent all the way around.

Great point. Dudes inventory is huge.

Maybe 5% are the super “hot” models. And it’s not as if he’s not paying for the hot models. Everyone that gets one thinks they have proverbial gold. He, and others like him, pay big to get them in stock.

Couple that with holding hundreds of less sought after models, and one wonders how lucrative the whole thing is anyway.

Maybe for the new stuff he is getting out the back door of AD's but then again no one really knows the facts only speculation. One fact is they don't pay big for used "trade in" stuff and turn it for a very healthy profit.

Again it is a business and folks thinking he is a non profit charity and praising him up and down are nuts. He is simply just a good businessman that knows how to drive a good business with good customer service. Nothing more, nothing less.

Speculations aside, in my experience, great business and great customer service are highly valued and not to be taken for granted.

I don’t believe anyone mistakes him for being a non profit charity.

I personally praise him for being a good businessman. Pretty simple really.

But hey, haters are gonna hate. Similar to death and taxes.

Just checked the site to see what’s under the X-mas tree there and it’s down for maintenance. Too much traffic perhaps

He mentioned the new site should go live this week.

I’m looking forward to seeing all the new inventory! I normally check the site once a day.
