Thanks everyone. This is a really cool watch and a nice alternative to a Nautilus or aquanaut. Seems like a new genre for Patek and I like it a lot

Congrats on the 5524 I’m sure you’ll love it.

Thanks Ken. Unfortunately it wasn’t for me, can’t really explain why as I’d tried it on loads of times and always loved it, but I just didn’t bond with it.

Anyway my AD sold it for me at a slight loss and is getting me a 5990 in December

Interesting! Will you keep your 5980, when you get the 5990?

This is perhaps one of the reasons I didn’t bond with the 5524. I made a monumentally stupid mistake of selling my 5980 to get the 5524. I’d got a bit bored of the 5980 and there were a few things about it I didn’t like - not being able to read the chrono counter with my poor eyesight was one. It’s a big regret at the moment though.

So I got the 5524 as i fancied a change.

I probably wouldn’t have kept the 5980 and the 5990, so maybe this disaster will work out in the end.

5990 is a great piece and I'm sure you will enjoy it a lot. My 5990 gets significantly more wrist time than the 5524G

I think what it was, I just realised it wasn’t my favourite Patek. There’s a couple of Nautilus models I’m getting, then who knows perhaps I’ll get another down the line, or maybe a pilot chrono if they ever make one.
