I was very clear in the thread, I am getting it, not even one second did I hint that maybe I wasn't, just wanted to see what you guys think, it matters in the sense that since it is coming in and I know some members have very close looking watches, it would be nice to know what they think and how they do to have a normal rotation...

Anyways I think it should be ok and should be worn, basically to try not to wear out too much the 5712, since it's my favorite watches I will probably wear these much more than the AP, 5167R or the other, I love my AP but must say that 70% of the time I am wearing my 5712 now, the AP is comfortable enough but the 5712 is on a whole different level, you barely feel it.

The 5711 and 5712 can easily sit within the same collection. I am awaiting a white dial 5711 to go with my blue dial.

For me the best sports in the current collection are the 5711, 5164 and 5990 (in that order)

The best ever Nautilus would be the 5980 blue dial for me...

I would get a white 5711 with 5712. Not everyone likes the white, but I do.
Otherwise if both blue, seems too redundant to me personally, but as others have said, if you like it get it, both hold their value just about as good as any watch.

Arnaud - I have both and can co-exist. i always look forward to wearing them as they are part of a rotation. Not redundant at all.

Cheers

For me less is more when it comes to watches, I have a thing about having pieces sitting around not being worn. Its my pet hate haha.
If I had the 5711 and 5712 I know for sure I would wear the 5712 much more as I love that piece and try to fit in the 5711. Eventually I would flip the 5711 for lack of wear. I learnt my lessons with other similar watches but thats just me being weird.. loool.

Now I have the following pieces which I feel is a very well balanced collection and all get rotated well.. PP5131R, Rolex Daytona 6263 Panda, Smurf Sub, GMT 16750 Pepsi and Omega Speedy pro...
Recently flipped my 5712 reluctantly to get the 5131R which I will be getting back and possibly replacing the Smurf. Serious illness which has no cure hahaha

Totally different watches IMHO - have a 5711 and will be looking to get a 5980 black and 5990....all about the function of the watch. In short, okay to have both!

Anyways I will try to rotate them normally, if that poses a problem then one week one will b at the bank, change the week after, they are clearly my favorite watches, especially for the bue dial and the great comfort, don't know if the 5167R will be more comfy, for me the 5712/5711 is ideal in comfort, sure a RM 027, whichever one, at 18-20 grams is crazy I guess, but don't have the funds to get that kind of watch, well I could, but that would mean selling real estate, and can say goodbye to my kid going to college, so will avoid.

For those who wonder, I took the tickets yesterday for Paris, am arriving on the 30th in Zurich, and on the 1st I should have the 5167R, I am really craving to finally get it, since the time I think about it...

Stupid? Not at all as long as you love all watches in your collection.
I would say 'go for it'. Congratulations.
