New Patek + broken arm!

I kid you not - yesterday I finally bit the bullet and bought a 5170G 010 and had it "overnighted" to my home. On the way home I had an argument with an escalator. Got back from the specilist this morning with my fractured left Radius in a sling and my 5170 waiting for me! Its beautiful but now I can't wear it for 3 weeks!

Escalators emergency stop buttons

Sorry to hear and hope you heal quickly. In the last couple of years I have had to hit the emergency stop a couple of times because of people tumbling on escalators (airports and luggage involved both times). For those who aren't aware, there are emergency stop buttons at the top and bottom. You never know when you might need to hit the panic button!

Heal quickly and you can send me the Patek until you do so it doesn't languish!

Hope you have a quick recovery but be thankful you didn't have it on during the escalator argument.

Took years for my left wrist to learn the skill set of not banging into stuff while wearing my Rolex... I don't think I would subject my Patek to the training

Wow, that is a double tragedy; you broke your arm and can't even wear your new watch! I hope you heal quickly.

So sorry to hear about your broken arm and wish you a speedy recovery. It will be torture for the next three weeks unfortunately but at least you can look at it every day.

Looking forward to the wrist shots.

Given a choice, I'd prefer a broken Patek to a broken arm.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, OP. How about some pics of the watch to cheer us all up on a gloomy October day?

what an amazing watch. Sorry to hear about your arm though. But your arm will heal faster than a broken 5170 ;)
