5711 - Clasp
I recently picked up another 5711 which I have worn a couple of times.
From day 1 the bracelet link below the clasp edge has started to mark - I noticed this almost immediately. It appears that because the clasp fitting has some play in it when the watch is worn and moves on the wrist it scratches the edges of the bracelet link directly below it. As per the pics attached. I have other nautilus models and have never know this to be such a major issue before (albeit I do have a few marks on the same link). I know the clasp is a bit flawed but didn't realise it would start damaging the bracelet from day 1. |

Aye... unfortunately nothing will be perfect forever. Although, I concur that this is a slight design flaw, but almost any clasp has a bit of rub where it clamps down.

Agree - I have no issues whatsoever with scratches or marks. The issue i have is that a design flaw causes immediate damage to the bracelet.

Not a big deal for the watch, but overall I find the clasp a bit lacking compared to others (AP for example)....wear it in good health it's a BEAUTIFUL watch.

I think it's a slight fault with the clasp. Will pop it into the PP salon when I get chance

I have this on my RG so my heart ain't bleeding for you. Once the clasp is closed it's not visible so doesn't bother me.

My clasps, whatever the brand, when this kind of clasp, always marked the link where it closes, maybe not the first day but very soon, so sure my 5712 also has marks, since it is the link under the clasp it doesn't bother me

My issue is that i would not expect such design flaws on my PP - I own other nautilus models and have never had such an issue. |

It doesn't ever come to mind for me and my SS 5711. The new scratch I put on the bezel however....

Mine did the same while I had it. Annoying but didn't bother me too much. Wasn't my biggest gripe with the clasp I'll tell you that

Unavoidable, perhaps yours however is slightly loose or even misaligned somehow due to the clasp holding holes being a little off by the smallest the degree.
My gold Daytona displays some marking beyond the clasp too. It bothered me for some time but I don't think about it much anymore. |

Thanks guys - it winds me up because it started almost instantly after wearing the watch. Agreed its totally minor but just shouldn't happen in my opinion and never seen it on any of my other nautilus's

I checked my 5712, I also have them visible when the clasp is closed , a little less than yours though, I am not very bothered with it.
