Patek Nautilus 5711 for a new Rolex Daytona ?

Should I trade my Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 for the new Rolex Daytona? I don't seem to wear my Patek much but I am afraid I may miss it. I am just wondering which piece is more sought after ?

Depends what you'll wear more honestly. The daytona is probably more versatile and looks great casual and dressed up, but the patek is a different, and arguably "classier" to to speak statement (don't kill me guys...) on the horological scale (again, don't kill me, the daytona movement is damn amazing).

Nope

Dayton is a much better looking watch, in my opinion.

Assuming 5711 for 116500 sure but better be cash your way.

Yes.
Although it's a PP, but 5711 lacks the visual appeal to a Daytona.
If 5980, then definitely not.

If you’re not wearing it much, then that pretty much says it all – but then it doesn’t naturally follow that you’ll wear the Daytona (ceramic presumably) more.
What’s stopping you from putting the Nautilus on your wrist more often?
Why would that change if you had the Daytona?

Maybe you were more enamoured by the idea of having a Patek, rather than the watch itself?
In here, it’s very easy to be swayed by certain members’ opinions or caught up in the hype of particular models, instead of taking a step back and thinking it through more thoroughly for yourself.

Kind of hard to make the 'more sought after' argument, as the Daytona is still relatively young in its production run.

You most likely will need to wait a few years before this comparison is more fair. In the meantime, I would recommend making or not making the trade based on which watch you want more.

Who cares which is most sought after? The question is which one will you wear?

Thank you for all the input thus far. I think I don't wear 5711 as much as I could because my everyday attire is usually more casual. I do wear it to formal functions. I am not sure how much I would wear the Daytona but I just want one of the new white face ones because it's so beautiful.

The Daytona would probably be a better watch for all styles of dress. But the 5711 is nice.

That would be a horrible trade if you did it.
I wear my 5711 as a daily. Even when dressed casual.

WTF? No way. You better be getting at least 10-11 grand your way for such a trade.

Yikes, raw deal. The price difference is too high to overlook.

So if you really, really want the Daytona C...Sell the 5711 then pay the grey dealer premium for the Daytona. You should still net a significant amount of cash.

How much are used 5711's going for on chrono24? Mid to high 20's. Daytona C's with the premium look to be 18k.
