Share your experience of taking 15400 to the pool/sea?
Hello everyone, i am wondering if you take your 15400 (or similar RO models) to the swimming activities in pool or sea? Is 50m water resistance enough to do it?

I leave my ROC at home if I'm planning a trip to the pool or sea. Although there is a thread somewhere with a RO in a pool, I only wear 100m or more in the water.

With the building consensus here, don’t do it. Surely you have something else to wear like a Rolex or G Shock?

My wife and I road tripped to Hilton Head this week and I had the same dilemma. Decided to leave the RO at home. Glad I did because it just isn’t worth the worry. Enjoy your trip!

The RO is not a tool watch, and to me 50m water resistance basically means don’t swim with it and don’t shower with it. If the crown is a little bit loose or the gaskets not completely tight, you risk a lengthy and costly service.
And to be honest, wearing a RO in the pool would look silly and out of place if you ask me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My 15500 has been to the beach, swimming and had many showers. I buy a watch to use, not to baby.
Absolutely no problems. A great watch. |

The RO can definitely withstand the pool/beach etc.
Whether you actually want to bring it there is up to you.

Yeah it would be fine most likely. I just prefer to be carefree at the pool or beach and the RO would have me exercising wrist awareness. No thanks

the real question is: are you rich enough to not care? I think it looks awesome to go fishing and swimming with a 500k RM like the crazy rich arabs on instagram, sadly I dont have enough money to not care and probably not the right care free attitude even if I had the money - long story short - I would not risk it.

I haven't yet, but I've only had it a month or so. Once I get it pressure tested I'm not scared to (also it's insured).
Would still bring a Rolex or two to the pool/beach, but I'd like to be able to jump in with the 15400 on...

I’ll wear my 15400 in my pool in my backyard but nowhere else I would swim.
In a pool there’s too much concrete to do serious scratches and in the ocean there’s sand which is worse. It’s your watch and ultimately it’s your call how much damage you’re willing to risk. |

AP specifically says you can do it. That being said, take the rolex and save the worry.

Never had an issue. Took my ROC to the beach a month ago. Even took it on the boogie board. No issues.

I don't wear mine at the beach or in the pool ... but not because I'm scared of the water resistance. More because I'm afraid of banging it on something. I'd rather knock around a ROO or Sub.
