Precious Metal Oyster Links Stuck

I recently purchased my grail watch, yellow gold skydweller. After a bad experience with AD marring a screw on resize, I decided to use my own tools to resize the skydweller. Screw removal went fine, but with a couple of the links, once the screws were out absolutely could not separate the links.

It appears the ceramic inserts and tight fit between the links is locking them together, and with the solid gold I’m wary of twisting and deforming the links. Any suggestions? Did a search and couldn’t find this problem posted to any forums.

Thanks

No one has experienced this issue with the ceramic inserts?
