Wow. This looks just like the 18kt yellow gold Day-date chronometer with silvered dial in my Rolex book (looks white but has a silver shimmer) applied baton markers, sector, and aperture for the day and date. Luminous baton hands. Rolex President bracelet with concealed clasp. Possible Model 1803 from around 1972 (per book - page 282 The Best of Rolex Watches). The value for the one in the book from 2006 was $7000 to $7500 but gold has gone up a lot and so this (with gold value) will probably be at least $1,000 higher but that is taking into consideration that it works. See what others have to say. Picture is not clear and I can't even read the dial but it looks like what I said. I do believe this is also known as the Day-Date President (based on the bracelet).

Sorry to sound negative, but could You post some sharper pics.

A few things look a bit wonky, unaligned and too long on this 1803

Bracelet seems to be all polished too.

I have to echo Kiwinz, the background is in focus but the watch isn't.

Based on these pictures alone (date window, bracelet links) I put it in the fake category.

Guys I appreciate the input I'm a newbie here. I'll get some better pics of it next month when I pick it up. My grandfather was pretty well off and my mom said she seemed to have thought her mom bought it for him at a Rolex dealer in Madison Wisconsin. If its a fake Rolex I'd be pretty surprised. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I dont doubt that it has been polished at some point but its real. They were pretty well off and would never buy something second hand or used. I just dont know what model it is. I'll get some better pics of it next month when I pick it up. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
It is not fake depending on bracelet condition and how it is running 6-8k
Cheers

Need better pictures...

The baton at the 6 o'clock does not seem centered.

Perfectly authentic Rolex 1803 Day-Date on original "outside clasp" President band. I would guess c. 1970 or so, possibly a little earlier. Watch has seen some life, a bit stretched and polished, but not too terrible. Current true value is in the $6500-7000 range.

Well the bracelet looks pretty stretched is what I was really saying. If it is useable and in passable condition that adds good value to the watch as a whole. That is up to any potential valuer with watch in hand to decide.
So no I wasn't kidding

Although not very knowledgeable on Day Dates, it does have the dial with the larger baton markers at the six and nine spots. Nice vintage Rolex.

Looks allright to me. Band with a lot of stretch and no hidden clasp will reduce value, as well as the probably long not performed service. Would need to see the stamps/hallmarks. First guess of value around +- 6000 USD.

watch looks ok, nice older style applied baton markers, likely an older 1803,the band looks very stretched has a non concealed clasp, you had an option at the time, a concelaled clasp was much more expensive, it needs the Micheal Young spa treatment, and to be refinsihed in the correct brush and polish finish. Value is approx $6000 when serviced and the band sorted out.

This Day-Date is not fake
Regular period 1803 with step dial and visiblle buckle

Value (?)... as is $5300, with a tight bracelet 5800
To fix the bracelet you need around 600 dollars worth of labor
Plus a 200 for service plus possibly a crown and tube 150
maybe a new acrylic crystal 60 thats with a watchmaker
who is not greedy - a greedy one will ask $2500.

Service at the official Rolex factory service center RSC will take a month
and will cost around 780 if the above parts are needed - excluding
gold-smith work for the bracelet.
You will get a Rolex warranty for two years and all the bells & whistles
of the service
