Sunday musings

I woke up very early this morning, around 04:30. It was because of the smell of fire. Something was burning! We always sleep with the bedroom balcony door wide open and that smell must have woken me. Then I heard the sound of a truck's reversal alarm: beep, beep, beep. And after that the sound of hoses being rolled out.

Some incredible w@nker had found it necessary to set fire to one of the large, steel steel garbage containers across the street of our apartment The smoke had gotten into our bedroom and that's why I woke up! Anne slept through the whole affair. I honestly don't know what moves people to do this, I honestly don't. I went out to check this morning and the blaze almost set one of the beautiful and over a 100 year old trees on fire as well 100 lashes for that fool!

During my last medical check-up it became painfully obvious that my eyesight has deteriorated quite a bit the past 3 years and so I had my eyes measured today. It turned out to be even worse I had no other choice than to order new spectacles and so I did. I'm on an average minus 8 Without contact lenses or glasses my world is a clouded mist

I went for a Ray-Ban model (like Mythbuster Adam wears) and I can pick it up the 30th of June. I also ordered new contact lenses but will have to have a separate measurement for those as well. You come in for just an eye exam and go out 440 Euros lighter I wear glasses in the evening and contacts during day time and soon I'll look like Buddy Holly

No coffee and rolls and no drinks as the weather didn't turn out all that well, it started to rain So the only thing we did was that trip to my optician and I'm still shaking with exitement

My health insurance covers 100 Euro and my company's 'mutual risc fund' covers another 75. I'm also entitled to 90 Euro compensation for my Internet connection this month so I only have to pay 175 Euro out of my own pocket We Dutchies are known skinflints
And now I sit here, a glass of Blanton's Single Barrel with one icecube in hand and I'm a very happy camper. And you guys play a great part in this

Could you please write that in English? I am sure I speak for the majority of the forum members who don't speak Dutch!

Ah buy a new DSSD and forget the glass's, the loom will light up any darkness. Only trouble is you will have to spend more time in the gym just to keep your arms the same length.
Enjoy your drink your posts are the best...

No, they never do When the fire becomes so clear that someone calls 911 (or, in our case 112), the culprit is long gone This is part of society that I truly despise There are a number of total a*holes that ruin our world and still get away with it
