When the "big watch" fad dies and 36-39mm is the norm it will be very out of place unless you're built like The Rock.

It’s not perfect. I have one and it probably be next one out, just never felt it to be special.

Is the SD50 perfect , certainly close to it & love the red line . But put a glide lock on a LV & it just sings perfection to me .

The movement's too small for the case -- even with the cyclops, the date sits too far from the edge of the dial.

So, not "perfect," but still a lovely watch.

Case and lugs are the best we can see in the 6 digit production of sports model. I think the case shape will be the base for the next submariner. If you have the wrist size and if you want to spend some time to fine tune the bracelet it is indeed perfect.

I’m sure the same thing was said when 36-39mm were becoming popular and smaller watches were just the “right” size.

And I owned the 114060 before picking up the SD43...honestly speaking, the SD43 has the same footprint on my wrist the only difference being the case thickness.

There are other features on a watch that make it look either bigger or smaller so focusing only on dial size isn’t giving the complete picture...my 2 cents.

It used to be 40 mm and they couldn't give them away. Sat in cases for months. So I have to disagree with you there. The larger case diameter (and red writing) is what has made this watch so successful.

It's definitely a 50th Anniversary Sea Dweller regardless people like it or not. For the nay sayer, even it's hard to get one now but try it because once it's discontinued it will be like that of the 50th Anniversary Submariner. Once of lifetime to chance to get it in your name if you're lucky enough. I was lucky enough to get both 50th Anv. Submariner and Sea Dweller brand new from AD.

With introduction of the TT Sea Dweller, Rolex will further reduce the production of the SS Sea Dweller to make this watch very hard to get.

this. I absolutely love the presence. Makes my 40mm Rolex feel "delicate." SD43 feels like a solid chunk without going over the top. I need to pump my 7.3" wrist to 7.5 and I'll be happy

7.5" Unfortunately, the SD43 favors a larger wrist and is not for everyone.

I wouldn’t call it perfect but I have to admit that sometimes I miss mine, only thing I didn't like is that the caseback has less contact area than the Deepsea, the New updated Deepsea wears very well on flat wrists ,more comfortable than the SD43 IMO.

Can’t argue with that logic, especially with what happened after the flat 4. This time not only did Rolex give it a MK1 dial, they even put a big sign next to it at Basel 17.

I imagine the cat will come out of the bag slightly quicker this time due to all the hype around Rolex.

Congrats on two 1st class pieces

I think most people that say it’s “too big” have not tried it. I use to be that person until I tried it on. I love it and my wrist is under 7”!
