Turning 40 with the SBGW231G

I’m turning 40 in 8 days and my lovely wife treated me to the SBGW231G.

We were browsing back in December, and she surprised me with her idea of this generous gift; we took delivery on Friday.

This model is officially being phased out for the newer SBGW301, but my AD had one left in the company. (Note: I deliberately wanted this one as opposed to the new model.)

No bubbles! (Even under the loupe.)

I’ve been excited about this model for a while, so this was a magnificent and welcome gift.

Wrist is just under 7.25 inches; I don’t think the 37mm case looks too small.

And—my IRL initials are “GS,” so this feels like the correct addition to my personal collection.

Thanks for letting me share. Hope you’re all enjoying your watches.

Congratulations, George! Also, an early Happy Birthday to you! Getting a watch like this is such a nice way to mark a milestone, celebrate, and always remember with each glance at the wrist.

Congrats on the watch, it's one of the finest from GS in my opinion!

I'm just a few months behind you on the milestone. I'll see if I can use you as an inspiration to twist my wife's arm into letting a new GS mark the occasion, ha.

Cheers my friend

Great watch, nice clean dial, the 9S line of movements is solid and reliable. Manual wind keeps you involved every day you wear it, hope you enjoy it.

Congratulations it’s a beauty for sure, I have the same model and love it.

It’s a strap monster and goes from formal to casual depending on the colour.

That's a nice one! I also love this one more than the new one.
The strap looks better connected to the case with this older one right? Or am i seeing weird stuff?
