Bought my 2 liner 14060m new, for £1900 in mid 2001, lovely watch, still kicks ass, proper old skool ROLEX - had a genuine YM Red second hand put on in 2005, love the lug holes and the moving end links, it's truly one of my favourite watches... I'll probably be buried with it

Good article and right on the money in my humble judgement.

All you guys that love the 14060–I understand the love but seriously, you should contact Jack Alexyon at International Watch Works if you want a better clearer looking face. As I said, the 14060 has the absolute worst glare of any Rolex watch. It was worth it to me to get the coating—the dial will look clearer and that face will look much better, crisper. A negative is that if you get your watch serviced, RSC will replace the crystal with the original no A/R coating crystal (from my understanding) Not sure about whether the warranty is voided.

I'd have to go with my 14060 2-liner. It changed my life.

When I bought it several years ago, I was just another douchebag with a Sub.

Now, with that same watch, I am a shrewd collector, and an aesthete to boot.

I’ve got a 6.x inch ,
I think 5 digits sub is one of the best fit for me, and it’s not so bling on the wrist as daily watch

14060 for me. Maxi-case just doesn’t do it for me as much, it’s still a lovely watch though. The 14060 seems so right to me in many ways as a Sub.

The 14060 is on my radar to pick up actually, fairly set on a tritium dial too. They aren’t too easy to fall in with.

Shoresguy- that 14060 tritium 2 liner is delicious! That creamy lume!

The 14060 is much nicer and more proportionate. A modern classic watch.

part of me wants to deviate a smidge as I'm starting to dislike the thin nature of the minute hand on my 14060m.

It would be a mod watch of course but here is what I'm thinking:

- holes case 16610
- 116610 dial and hands
- no cyclops

Of course the 14060M would have to go to fund it but its just a thought. I could always get a CWC diver or something similar to scratch the "bright lume / maxi" itch - but that is not always as fun.

14060 vs 114060

It’s all opinion, but I can’t understand how anyone likes the maxi case in comparison to the 5 digit. It’s horrible and fat in comparison and like a box.

Fat 6. No thanks. 5 all the way. I tried a hulk on today. Loved the colours, but can’t wear that shape.

The bracelet is clearly better however but no deal break for me.

I suspect that is why I think the ceramic Daytona is the best watch Rolex make.....best of both worlds...

I have never noticed this phenomenon on my 14060M, in fact I can detect no notable difference between it and my other three Rolexes.

I sure did. Which is why I went through the trouble of getting it done. I had two 14060Ms and each time, I had it done. 114060 no.

First real watch i bought was the 14060m (2 liner). Bought it second hand for a steal. I have had it now for about 15 years. Never been serviced and working fine (+7sec a day). Nowadays I'm only use it when going to the gym twice a week. Its a classic sub. Toolwatch, no bling. Perfect size and comfortable. Maybe the bracelet doesnt look much but its so comfortable. In fact i find the whole watch a lot more comfortable then my Hulk.

14060 is my vote.

In a fevered state, I gave my 14060 (1999 vintage) to my brother as I owed him a debt of gratitude. The 16600 (1996 vintage) got/gets all the wrist time anyway, but I still feel a cosmic connection...

Discovered last week how satisfying it is to remove and clean the bezel: Got to love those 5 digit series!!

Have worn both. The newer one is perfect for me. It wears much bigger that the 5 digit, it is heavier and shinier. The big problem with the previous version was the bracelet. I will never get a Rolex without the Glidelock. Unless it is the ss Daytona of course.

Had, loved, sold my 14060m 2 liner. Once I went just to try on the 114060 at my AD for curiosity it was all over. Time to move on for me. Love the 5 digit sports models not not enough to want to own or wear them anymore.
