Thoughts on this 1972 GMT Pepsi

Comes with service papers but looks like the dial and hands plus the bezel have been replaced.

What range of numbers should the serial number be to confirm 1972?, this one starts 290**** is this correct.

Does it look over polished and Any idea on current values??

You're right dial, hands and insert are replaced, if that's the look you like go for it. Its polished but not to death. As for the price you can try https://www.watchrecon.com/?query=1675+gmt and get an idea. Be sure you consider condition when valuing.

The serial is a smidge early for '72, you should ask for photos of the caseback and serial number to make sure they concur.

The watch is fine except for the service parts. Personally I would not even consider this watch because the best parts of the watch r gone. The original mark 1 or 2 dial, hands n fat font insert will set u back at least 5k, if u can find them. If u just want a nice watch to wear, don’t spend more than $7k.

I blame it on the autoconnect.

Personally I don’t like the pure white dial it’s 1972 it’s supposed to have a vintage look with some patina, might as well get a newer 16750 if you want that pure white look ,probably in that same price range And it will be all original.

Hi Gary as already mentioned the dial has been replaced and probably the hands as well as the insert so keep looking. If you are after a GMT drop me a PM.
