Thanks for the useful information concerning the dials

Just wondering whether there is anyway to know what material is ued on the dial of a specific Rolex? Like whether its yellow gold or brass with galvanic coating? Does it show on the serial no.? Then what are the materials of the dials that are in pink, blue, black or white etc?
