I only buy the perfume oils, not branded mixtures of alcohol in a nicely marketed container.
Abdul Samad al Qurashi is my favorite purveyor, though there are some really nice perfumes from some smaller companies. |

Chaps
As part of my ongoing programme of elevating myself from an old slob to a super cool sexy guy, what sort of smellies should I be looking at. I see literally dozens of bottles of eau de toilette at around €30 but are they any good and how long does the smell last. Also is spray on better or worse than splash on ? Regards Mick |

I use Chanel and not much else. Be aware that an identical fragrance will smell different on you than it will on anyone else. This is because we all have our own natural and very individual aroma. Spray is most definitely better than 'splash on', regardless of what Our 'Enry said. For a start, half of it gets wasted on your palms and it also dries the skin on your hands out. Chanel Allure is classic and suits most men but Chanel Platinum Egoiste suits the, um, more senior gent. A lot of old farts I know swear by Aramis. Now, if you are as charming as you are judgemental (), pop into your local department store that has several franchises of all the better smellies, try and blag a couple of samples from the young lady at the counter and 'test drive' a scent for a few days. Keep in mind they can smell quite different on you to what they do on the piece of card they often squirt a fragrance on and shove under your hooter. Good luck. Regards, Ruud.

How do you smell (no nose jokes)
Like previously mentioned, two people wearing the same fragrance will not smell the same.
Chez Bond No.9 from Bond NYC works for me. I've have women stop me to compliment and ask what I'm wearing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ordered from Lazada CK Be, It's one of my fav' perfumes.
Anyways, I'm 99.99999% sure I got a fake bottle, the scent disappears in less than an hour. Be smart. Don't buy perfumes off Lazada

If you have a higher end department store in your area and you're willing to part with some cash to take your fragrance game to the next level and move a bit away from the mass marketed scents, check out...
-Dior Collection Privee (I'm wearing Cologne Royale today) -Tom Ford Private Blend (They're theoretically made to be blended by the wearer, though I don't think many do that - as in 2 sprays of x and 3 of y) -Armani Prive line -Creed has a lot of fresher scents that people like. They're trying to expand, but that's what they're known for. -Atelier Cologne is a newer brand that has a lot of nice scents that people seem to like. They're also a bit more affordable than the above. Good luck, and have fun. As noted, you should really test them on the skin before you buy. If you don't have access to a boutique or a higher end department store, there are reliable online stores that will ship you decants to try at home. 3 I use are Surrender to Chance, Lucky Scent, and Decant Shop. They're also a great source for obscure niche brands and independent companies with very limited distribution. Some that I like are Xerjoff, Le Labo, Roja Dove, Profumum Roma and Nasomatto.
