York, PA (June, 2010 trip) hotel suggestions . . .

Good day to all !
Well, that time is getting closer, the good York PA meet !!
I was going to PM the members who are going so we can try to figure out where we all will be staying (local hotels in the area), but I figured just creating a post here so everyone can read would be MUCH easier.
We will be coming from CT, and I know MANY of you will be traveling far enough away where a hotel room will be required. If anyone has any suggestions on Hotels in York please either post them here, or feel free to send me a PM so we can get the ball rolling on the hotel rooms
It would be great if we were to all stay at the same hotel (not in the same room though ).
We were planning on leaving CT around 3PM on the 16th of June (Wed. night) , so we would arrive in York around 8-9PM ish, and we would leave Saturday noonish. We also plan on going to Hershey PA on the way back to CT if anyone is going through the area on the way back and wants to join us
Anyway, any hotel suggestions please feel free to either PM me, or post em up !!
Thanks !
Mike

Hey Guys:

1. What date are we getting together for Rolex Forums? I would think Friday??
Maybe Thursday night drinkie poohs, and Friday look at the exhibits, maybe go over to the Watch & Clock Museum in the a.m.? I will call the Exec. Director, once I know is it Friday a.m., or Sat. a.m.?______________________

2. Motels:
1.Holiday Inn 2000 Loucks road Nearest...to Toyota Center/York Fairgrounds in West York, where NAWCC National is being held. It's 'ok', but nothing to write home about, but a very short drive(10 minutes). Tel 717-755-1966. Not my recommendation, but it is close and convenient.
Room cost is likely to be around $100.00 per night.

2. Country Inn & Suites..not that close, but about 20 minute ride, just off Route I-83
and would be my pick. 245 St. Charles Way, 717-747-5833. My guess is also around $100.00 per night.

3. The Yorktowne Hotel...downtown York, 717-848-1111. Not too far(aboutr 15 minutes), re-modeled, and within walking distance of historic york spots(Lafayette House, Colonial Courthouse) and restaurants(some pretty good ones, too). Downside, is after dark it adjoins some tough neighborhoods. So you need to stay within a confined zone, not unlike many other center cities. Has nice dining facilities. Rooms, maybe $85.00 per night.

There are other spots, mainly along Rte 83, and if you want a B&B, let me know, and I'll inquire.

Best,
Dan

Sounds good ! We only have a short drive ahead of us (5 hours give or take), but it must really suck for you guys (what, something like 10 hours ??)
Either way, we will ALL be in need of some drinks

I was planning to come on Wednesday 16th, but now think I will do the drive out on Friday a.m. so as to maximize the opportunities to meet TRFers. I don't need hotel accomodations just an idea of where everybody plans to be Friday afternoon.

Okie dokie. I posted some hotels/motels at York on Mike's thread. Do we have an agreement on the date we will meet, and where? And if so, does this include the NAWCC, as I will contact the exec. director. I notice they are holding a bunch of open houses during that week. The National Watch and Clock Museum is worth it, believe me!
Their exhibits and library are awesome! Only a 30 minute drive(max) from York to Columbia, Pa. Let me know your plans! I will post identically at Mike's thread.......(this was posted a few moments ago, on the other thread entitled, "York GTG"
Best,
Dan

The Holiday Inn looks good.
Also, we stayed at a Hampton one time, and the bed and breakfast was fantastic, service was great, best orange juice in thier B&B buffet that I have ever had lol
They have one in York as well :

But I'm up to staying anywhere, so long as it's in a relatively good neighborhood :)

hmmm, why does this remind me of that scene from Animal House, where they chop up Dorfman's brother's or cousin's car, and he says words to this effect, "but you promised me you wouldn't hurt the car."...and I think it's D-Day who says, "face it Flounder, you fuc-ed up, you trusted us."......
NO parties at my house.
