RSC serviced 1680 incorrect replacement seconds hand?

Hello all,

Long time lurker and first time poster here. I have a luminova dial 6.3 serial 1680 that was serviced by RSC over a decade ago. At the time of servicing, the dial, hands, bezel and bezel insert as well as crown were all replaced. That is the extent of my knowledge as far as service history goes, I have the matching paperwork to support this. The watch came into my possession several years ago (after the servicing) and I've worn it regularly without issue since. Recently I was thinking of sending it back for another servicing, and debating whether or not to get the top hat crystal replaced while it was in RSC hands, so I looked at pictures of other 1680's in similar configuration to get an idea of the condition of mine for a comparison. At this point I noticed that most pictures of service dial and original dial 1680s on the internet show the seconds hand reaching to the tip (not longer) of the minute markers and being the same length as the minute hand. Looking at mine again, I was shocked to notice that the seconds hand on mine reaches PAST the tip of the markers almost to the end of the dial, and being much longer than the minute hand. I could only find ONE example of this in other 1680s which is from a watch that was sold by HQmilton in the past.

A couple of thoughts come into my mind when thinking of the reasons for this: honest mistake? lazy RSC tech? or more sinister; was I lied to when I was sold the watch? It was entirely my fault when I bought the watch, every single thing I checked indicated the watch was correct, the movement and case/serial number are all legitimate. Now that all has been said and done, has anybody seen or heard a reason as to why my seconds hand is incorrect? Does it belong on another watch? Should I be concerned?

The pics attached are of my watch, and the pics in this link are of the other 1680 that I mentioned that had a similar size seconds hand.

I think you will find many ref 14060 Subs with long seconds hands. Perhaps your watch just happened to be serviced during that era.
