Speedy Chrono Reset Issue

Hi guys, I have a year old speedy pro and two times in the last day when I reset the chrono, the 6 o'clock counter does not reset to zero. The first time this happened the reset was about four minutes ahead of zero, but it reset to zero upon restarting the chrono and resetting again. The second time the reset brought it to about three minutes before zero, and a restart and reset did not immediately fix it, I had to run the chrono for a half hour or so and then reset to get it to zero.

Anybody ever gave a similar experience? I have voided my warranty (dial conversion), so I'd rather not service it unless I know there is a problem. Thanks in advance!!

Panda conversion? It could be the dial. I would suggest having the hands checked. It could be that the hands were not set deep enough.

But wouldn't that mean that the hand has slipped, and thus perminantly won't reset to zero? And yes, it's a mitsukoshi comversion.

My experience is that it is harder to fit the hands on a mitsukoshi dial. It could be catching on something.

Nice panda by the way. :)

If it's 5 years plus since last service, I'd find a good watchmaker and do the service and avoid the bandaid fixes. Best of luck, thanks for inspiring me initially on the mod.

You might have an issue that can be fixed easily before it breaks something.

I have two watchmaker who work for my company if you are interested.

I wouldn't go to Omega for this....in fact I am not a big fan of their servicing @ all. IMO it's more economical/better (you know exactly who's working on the watch and individual watchmakers respect your requests more than Omega especially on vintage pieces) to find a local CW21 watchmaker that's trustworthy....or a popular CW21 that accepts mail-ins. I wouldn't even go to Omega now with non-modified pieces (after my first 2 services that I wasn't satisfied with) much less a modified piece. Just my 2 cents.

I've only had one service experience with Omega, but it was fine. However, I do agree that independent watchmakers can be better, and if it needs service, I'll send it to Rik down in FL. In the meantime, I work very close to the NYC Omega boutique, I'll bring it there to get their input, if they think it needs a service, off to Rik it will go.
