Thinking about a speedmaster to round up the collection
Does anyone own one of these in their collection? Until recently, I haven't thought much about Omegas but once the speedy bug bit, I can't stop thinking about it.
I have a 36mm DJ and a BLNR so I am looking for something more "every day" and I'm wondering if the Speedy Pro will fit the bill. Would like to get some feedback from the owners. (Not my pic)

Just got one yesterday. The Moon box. 2 other straps. Great watch.
I've had 17 Rolexes. Have 5 right now. This is my second Omega. Have the Seamaster. Happy. |

The answer is to try one. I will say most of the time if you got the speedy on your mind...it won't be just one.....

The speed is a great watch however the sub date is probably your best 'everyday' watch option. I'd look into a 116610LN if I were you.

The Speedy is a must have...you should most definitely add one to the rotation and also, yes, its a perfect every day piece.....

A Speedmaster makes a great everyday watch.
I wore mine exclusively for 10 years. You can even get them wet! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The Speedmaster is a very fun and comfortable watch to add. Further, having both that and the BLNR make for a great rotation! I enjoy switching between those two and have never felt bored with either.

Can't go wrong with a speedy , a must have in a collection IMHO. Just reading the history of the watch and the NASA story and I was hooked. Also something intimate about having to wind a watch which is cool.

I have a few Rolex (Sub LVc, GMT 16710, Milgauss), and recently added a Speedmaster Pro (3572.50), and I have been loving it. Great design. Wears great. Very comfortable. I don't think it would ever attract negative attention. Well respected by 'watch guys'. Very solid. Price point for pre-owned makes it pretty easy to test drive.

It's an icon! I highly recommend one in any collection and would work quite well with what you have.

Every collector should have one. I do. Keep in mind that the classic one is a manual wind.
It really is fairly reasonably priced. |

The Speedmaster is an icon - beautiful dial, superb quality and a very comfortable bracelet. Just this afternoon, I worked out a deal with Takuya (aka Thanh Do) to acquire his Speedmaster with moonphase, and I could not be more pleased.
I owned this watch 3 years ago - unwisely sold it and have pined for it since. It took all of 2 minutes for Thanh and I to complete the deal. The Omega is on the way - will see it delivered by FedEx by 10am tomorrow. Pics to follow.

I also have both the BLNR and the Speedmaster Pro. They fit nicely into a collection together, I think. Go try one on and see how you feel about it.
And yes, I think the Speedy is a perfect everyday watch. |

I was in your shoes a few weeks ago. I pulled the trigger and now my speedy gets the most wrist time. My only wish is I should have bought one sooner. Good luck, you won't be disappointed.

Definitely go to a boutique and try one on. I can't buy based on pics alone I need to see it on my wrist.

Thanks everyone. I did try the Speedy Pro and the FOIS and loved them both, but I think I'm more biased towards the Pro. Reading the responses here makes me feel better about purchasing one.

Agree on all of the above! It's great all around - on comfort, on legibility, it's awesome on all kinds of straps/natos, great value. Go with the hesalite.

This one will be passed to my children. If it had a hesalite crystal it would be prefect.
