Bezel will not move

Hi!
I got a vintage rolex 1575 gmt. I was wondering if this bezel should be able to move or not.

Would Appreciate it.

Yes, push down on the bezel some, and then turn it in either direction. Sometimes debris will accumulate under the bezel, making it difficult to turn. If so, it's a very easy fix to remove the bezel and clean it up. Just search the forum for a link on how to remove the bezel. I usually use the edge of a credit card to remove mine, rather than a knife blade that I've seen my watchmaker use.

Congrats on the GMT. It's such an iconic watch that is comfortable to wear.

Congrats on the "1675", It is one of the coolest vintage Rolex watches in my opinion. As someone else said if you apply a bit of force to the top of the bezel (Three fingers work best) and turn it should move. A watchmaker should be able to clean this for you, if you are unfamiliar with popping it off and doing so yourself.

Welcome to TRF!

Georg,

The 1675 uses a friction fit bezel. You have to push down slightly then turn. They can get gunked up after a while (pizza and beer are usually the problem for me).

If you're sure the watch has been water checked a bit of warm water will help. If not try a soft toothbrush and be gentle.
