Milgauss - is it bad?

As i mentioned earlier i've recently purchased my first Rolex - Milgauss black. Liked GV too, but somehow ended up with plain black model.

After reading this forum non-stop for last few weeks i've realised Milgasus is not very popular choice here, especially with Rolex/Omega/Tudor/Breguet loaded guys

is Milgauss somewhat bad choice? What bad you can tell about it - please be honest. It will help me to make my 2nd Rolex purchase.

No Rolex is bad! Well, except for the fake ones... The Milgauss is a stunning watch, it's just not as known as other models.

The question is, do you like it? If the answer is yes, then who cares what everyone else thinks.

And BTW, it's an awesome watch!

On the contrary, I think the Milgauss is stunning.
Clean, classic lines, great wrist presence, larger case size and crown.
To me, the Millie is already a classic.
Don't worry.....as long as you like it

You are really jumping to the absolute wrong conclusion........

There are only a few thousand Milgauss that have been released to the market since it's re-introduction a couple of years ago..... You are one of the very few owners of this unique watch.......

How you could think that it was somehow a "bad choice" or bad watch because everybody doesn't have one escapes me...........

I agree with al the posts here, it does not matter what others think if you like it. Thats why they (Rolex) make more than one style... What one loves another hates... Congrats on your new Milgauss and your 1st Rolex, Welcome to the club!!! You will not regret it!

Its not a bad choice unless you are not happy with it? Be a leader not a follower. Don't listen to anybody wear what you like and what makes you feel good wearing.
The crowds not always right The most expensive Vintage watches today sat on shelves 20-30-40 years ago.So the crowd is not always right

I actually think the plain black Milgauss has a nicer dial than the more popular GV! So don't worry, you've made a great purchase - enjoy!

Thank you all again for your support of my choice. I do agree - if i like it i should not care too much about others opinion. And i do like my Milgauss.

I like mine, doesn't get much wrist time but I like it. Nice, heavy and easy to read. Very accurate.

Original Milgauss was not very popular either and Rolex ended up giving them away to retiring employees as gifts. However, these watches now goes for USD20,000-30,000 in recent auctions. So is that bad?

I love the GV and the black dial! the white dial doesnt float my boat....but thats just me....its probably a reflection on my personality hahhaha.....if it makes you happy than thats all the you should be worried about!

i keep encouraging my friends to get Milgauss, because they're doing there Masters and PhDs in physics...lol, they told me if i were to experince a Milgauss of radio waves or blah blah (physics talk that did not sound like english) i would be dead, but the Rolex would still the correct time! LOL - beautiful watch!

It's not bad. Just an unique and unusual watch. Not for everyone and that makes it cool.

From a marketing POV, I would have to say the Milgauss has been a dissapointment for Rolex. They were hoping to hit a home run like they did with the GMT IIc, but I think it was more like a single...
