The easiest to obtain but very nice reference would be the Explorer 1. AK and the MG still frequently on display. I feel bad about the YM1 as it seemed be discounted still as of a few months ago. Very nice watch.

I had a hunch that might be the case. You may already be planning this but...hold out for the one you really want. Submariners are out there, leave your contact info with a few AD’s and be ready to jump when they call.

Easily the Rhodium dial Yachtmaster. I think the main reason is the price, it’s a beautiful watch but significantly more expensive than most other SS sports and I think that turns a lot of people away.

Agree. its $3000 more than the SubC date. Its more PM in its appeal than SS I think.

As of last week my AD had a DSSD LN and a SS GMT LN. Just because they were in the case doesn't equate to them being unpopular. They were probably sold in a day or two. It's your money but I wouldn't buy a Rolex you didn't absolutely want just because it's a Rolex. Buy a watch you want to own. There are a lot of great divers out there not made by Rolex if it's a diver you want: Blancpain, Omega, GS, AP, and don't forget about Tudor. |

I’d guess the OP 34mm would have the least demand.
Too small for many men, and would appeal to fewer women than a DJ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Agreed since anything under 38mm is seen as too small right now for men.
I'm still surprised milgauss isn't more popular. Sent from the most complicated pocket watch in history... a cell phone. |

YM1, Exp2 and Sea Dweller here. The SD wasn't in the display shelf, but it was offered to me by my sales person on my last visit a couple of weeks ago.

Subjectiveness aside, I think the legibility is it's strongest suit. I hate using my cell phone other than for calls. So the more I can keep it in my pocket the better. I use watches to tell the time and not my cell, and the AK's readability is second to none. It's easy to read individual minutes with accuracy. It seems that most people who don't like the dial really don't like the mix of white gold 3,6,9 with the arabic minute markers. I actually find that in the real world application of reading the time, it adds some three dimensional depth to it that makes the hands more distinguishable and adds to it's legibility. I've read somewhere about other AK owners experiencing this as well. Quote:
a) in the broader world where people aren't as into watches as we are here, people are buying AK's like hotcakes. b) AK is a low production model I'm just not sure though, can only speculate. |

I see Yachtmaster, Milgauss, Explorer, Explorer 2, all kinds of stuff in the cases each week. I see the two tone GMT and Subs as well. Lots of PM watches out there too, which is my current desire (YG sub or WG GMT currently on the top of my list).
Best of luck.
