I won't get into it here - but I do prefer the 15202 in a head-to-head with the 5711 for a few reasons. Plus, my 15202 has sentimental value to me.

But, the 5712/1A...
Do you have the date changing tool for your 15202?

Touché.

Not a big problem for me at the moment because I wear it often enough that it hasn't been stopped since September. But that one time I had to move the date forward by 29 days...

I wasn’t being facetious, it was a genuine question. It’s surprising the number of people who have a 15202 that haven’t heard of the tool.

My apologies then. No I haven't heard of the tool - is it just something that makes that crown easier to turn?

I would. 5164 is a practical and fun piece and I miss it!

Since starting this thread, I've sold off the BLNR. After a few more days of wearing the 5167, I realize one of the things I admire is its simplicity and legibility. While the 5164 is very nice and still superior to the 5167, it is a lot of additional money for a complication I wouldn't use very often (maybe once or twice a year). That money might be better put towards funding my new FPJ CB and a 5712/1A down the line.

So for now, I'm shelving the idea of a 5164, but maybe one day. I'm totally happy with continuing to enjoy my 5167.

In the UK the price between the two has really closed from around £12K to just £6K on the grey market, 5167 has now hit £20k!, so best to buy the 5164 or the 5712 quicker rather than later as these will all be moving ever upwards.

I use the complication of my 5164R maybe twice a year , I almost never use my chronos (116500 and 5170G) so I guess I use my watches just for time purposes. I see your logic , I used the same logic before but for me I realize that it’s more about the visual and feel than the complication itself.

5167 it’s a great watch , 5712 and CB are great watches (I owned both of them in the past) CB is versatile with a beautiful movement to admire , 5712 is my favorite Nautilus with useful complications ; so I say you are safe either way, you really can’t go wrong

Cheers

We took the same path. I also wanted the 5164 but isn't within my budget...i would also use such complication once or twice a year and would rather use the difference to get the Daytona 500.

Twenty thousand pounds for a 5167???

That is absolute craziness. I paid the equivalent of 12,500 GBP for mine exactly 3 months ago.

Right now, the cash delta for me would be about $12,000 USD from the 5167 to the 5164 in the Canadian/US market... me thinks I should make a trip to the UK.

20K is a bit of an outlier, more like £18-19k from someone reputable.

Now that I have a 5164 on the way,

What's everyone's thoughts on having both a 5167 and 5164 at the same time? Too decadent? I'm worried about letting go of my 5167 as it seems like a piece that will be hard to get back if I let go of it now. I'm thinking I should at least, give myself a transition period with both to see if I end up preferring the 5167 over the 5164.

If it’s no sweat financially I would definitely hold a few months to confirm your preference. It always costs more to buy back.

make sure the 5164 is a keeper, which i cant imagine it won't be then get rid of the 5167. Is there really a situation where you would want to wear the 67 and not the 64? For me I can't think of one. I really like both, but the dial on the 64 would win every time as its just more interesting and the 67 would remain unworn.

Quite similar to each other and with these sums of $$$ that either costs, you have quite a bit on the side to fund a different piece later on.

But I agree with the opinion that you should not rush. Wear/try both for 2-3 months at most, be 100% sure why you would possibly like to keep only one of them, and then do it.

The 5712/1A is the only of my past watches which I still cannot fault for anything, after selling it. So whatever it'll be for you now, keeping either the 67 or 64, think of the future and the great pair you can set up later on.

If you're in a position to do so, def wear both for a while to be sure.

Shame you sold the BLNR, if PCLs were an issue, brush them... It's what I did and it is my go-to travel watch.

Keep both if it's not a pressing matter but I'm sure the 5164 will win the day, and in the mean time the 67 will probably move up.

Sounds like a good plan given that you don't wear the BLNR much and you would get a nicer Aquanaut.
