7 grand is nuts! You can get the whole watch now for not much more than that.
Sorry to see this happen to you, and no ceramic for me I guess. I'm always slamming my watch into something.

Dealer cost on these watches shouldn't be more than $8,000. If that's accurate, these Omega ceramic varmints are $7,000 case a $100 box and a $900 movement.

And they the 9300 is a superb movement.

Something seems out of wack at Omega.

UPDATE!!!!

Just wanted to first thank everyone on here for your support and valuable insight. After numerous conversations and inquiries, Omega has decided to replace my case for free as a one-time courtesy. They are doing it as goodwill for my brand loyalty and for the feedback that I received on the forums and they plan to investigate why the case chipped inside the lug. I should be receiving my watch back in approximately 4-6 weeks. They are sending it to Switzerland for the work and then they will inspect it and send it back to me. I am very relieved obviously and have a great deal of respect for the people in both the New Jersey service center and in Switzerland. They were very professional and helpful in my dealings with them.

Once again thank you to everyone who helped me with their advice and support. I am proud to be part of watch forums with such helpful and kind people.

i think you did well getting a free replacement.

at least the other GSOTM owners can now relax knowing omega are going to fix any chips in future.

Nice, that's a happy ending to a bad story. And this is cheap positive advertisement for Omega :)

Nice stuff, had a feeling Omega would step up to this......kinda puts things in perspective from the recent posts regarding RSC. Hopefully Omega doesn't ever get to the taken for granted status with customers. Glad to hear things worked out.

That's awesome. Getting the right person to look at the location of the damage was key. Good for Omega recognizing that area of the case as a low probability of impact damage and offering to do the right thing. Congrats!

I'm really curios on how they will handle the serial numbers since the movement and the case are the same. I wonder if they will manufacture the replacment case with the same serial?

Wow that is incredible news and very very honorable of Omega to commit themselves to this. People reading this thread will surely have a different opinion of omega and may persuade them in the future of investing in their watches.

Great news and I am pleased Omega stepped up to handle the situation. The GSOTM is a beautiful watch. When it comes back, get insurance.

That's definitely good news to hear about them covering the replacement. That being said, part of me would still be terrified to wear a ceramic watch.

It's very rare. Insure it,enjoy it, and go deployment. If omega had went deployment in the first place we probably wouldn't have seen any of these and omega has sold 1000s maybe 10000s

Thanks for all the comments. Does anyone know where I can get a deployment clasp for the GSOTM. I would love to put one on and have it by the time I get the watch back from Omega

Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that. I think they are genuinely interested in understanding why it chipped where it did. In the case of the pictured GSotM missing an entire lug, I'm pretty sure Omega will assume sheer negligence on the part of the owner.

That's kind of a broad assumption!

Good move by Omega. I highly doubt the NYC RSC would have done the same. Bravo.
