Welcome to the club 'Number Four'.

I tried on the GMTIIc twice before falling for my PO LM and agree totally with your comments.

This beautiful watch speaks to you - the GMTIIc was 'Mute' by comparison.

Now who wants to be 'Number Five'?

Yours faithfully - 'Number Three'.

p.s. If there was a Club for GMTIIc it would be a little more than four in number by now - don't you think?

Five members. That's not bad considering only about 250 of the 1948 have so far been produced. If any UK members are interested in getting hold of one plese PM me. I'm on the list for the next one at the Omega Boutique in Bond Street but, as you can see, I've picked up one already.

Oh no! I think I am falling in love with this watch! Help!

I guess my only hope is to call the NYC Boutique and get on a list! Anyone know if they or another AD has one on hand?

It is nice to be member nr 5! I have to correct you about the number of watches wich has been produced so far, it is much more than 250 pieces. Mine is nr 383 of 1948, and I don´t know how many they have produced, maybe they already produced the whole stock, who knows??

Here is some more shots of my Liquid Metal, love it!

Just checked I'm 175/1948.

I bet the full 1948 are out there. It's a wide, wide world and five on this forum is not bad at all.

Sorry, my mistake, that's what Bond Street Omega boutique told me and as I picked up number 241 I figured that they were correct. Anyway, good to have you aboard

I have noticed that the LM's bracelet feels lighter. Possibly cause the links are hollow?, not sure of this though.

P.S.: I totally blame Fr John for all those beautiful pics of his. -=thanks=-

lovely pix guys - congrats on this beautiful piece.

what are the chances of Apple making a special edition iPhone/iPod/iPad to match the beautiful Omega Seamaster PO LM?

You are most welcome.

Check the numbers on the clasp and end-pieces. They should be the same. The links are not hollow.

Both claps are the same 1580/925 and end pieces near clasp have same numbers. Hmmm... I just heard a different ping sound between the 2 when i was taking the pics last night. Now I'm curious to weight each.

Oh man I wish I could join....

I've got my pledge money ready....I just can't find one!!!

I think that this is the hottest watch to be introduced in quite some time

really, I think that the new Submariner is downright boring next to this one..

Hopefully an upcoming trip to Alaska will help...I've researched a few Omega dealers in Alaska, plus our cruise ship has an Omega contract...

Wish me luck...I hope to be #6!!

I shall call that an.... iBezel.
Did you know that Apple bought the LiquidMetal just a few days ago?
Wondering how that will play in the future?

Currently only the Omega Boutiques and selected ADs carry the LiquidMetal. Even the Boutiques have difficulty keeping them in stock.

A few have had luck calling around to Boutiques and having the watch shipped.

I had never seen the LiquidMetal "in the steel" and took a chance buying mine pre-owned. Fortunately, it was in mint, unworn condition, and beautiful.

As for Apple, the agreement with LiquidMetal does not preclude Omega's use in watch production.

Great examples of one of the best looking Omegas made.

I don't understand the difference between the Liquid Metal version of the PO and the standard PO. Is it simply that the bezel is made out of a different material? If so, why would that warrant such a large price hike?

Houston, welcome to the forum!
One more very important "feature" that hikes up the price: it's a limited, numbered edition.

Managed to get one last December, early number. The look of the watch is great and is a pleasure to wear although recent bezel insert problems have been slightly disappointing. Hopefully it will be repaired next week at the AD and back on wrist.

I went and got the 45.5 PO - love it !!!!!!!!!

Apple bought the technology - not the company from what I understand. Apple can use the technology any way they see fit with their products.

However, the LiquidMetal company can still sell the product to others that do not compete with Apple -
Like Omega.

A lot of companies use this LM technology besides Omega -

I would not be surpised at all to see the iPhone 5 made out of it.

If the Liquid Metal came in a 45mm version I'd seriously consider selling my left testicle to fund one.....
