That's a great 4 but would have liked to see the 5712R stay and the Speedy gone, but hey your collection not mine, anyways very cool foursome. Did you out the see through case back on the Speedy? Pretty sure I would as the Lemania movement is very cool, even if not to the level of PP transformation, still pretty sweet

Nice change up, clearly you have a set type now and you've just tweaked it a bit.

Exactly that means that my formula is a platinum calendar from Patek , a rose gold casual that it has been constantly a Patek but maybe not necessarily Patek (not sure) and a sport Rolex, you have to have a Rollie

Conversion from hoarding all brands to Patek

I love the concept that I can wake up and ask myself do I want a feel on my wrist ?
1) Rubber
2) Learher
3) Stainless Steel

This combo of watches covers that.

Complication wise is pretty varied as well

1) GMT (time travel )
2) moonphase
3) power reserve
4) day/night indicator
5) date
6) day-month (AC)
7) Chronograph

In theory it should keep me away from watches for awhile

Edit: AaaH and I almost forget, 3 different metals on the case:

1) Platinum
2) Rose gold
3) Stainless Steel

I'm currently thinking along same lines - aiming for 2 Patek and a beater Rolex (however only SS with my budget).

Thanks a lot for the ongoing story Jorge! Definitely feel the same way. I think a a happy 'end game' for me would be the following:

Beater- Rolex Sea Dweller
Sporty- Patek 5711 Blue
Dressy- Patek 5396R (w the Breguet numerals)

Congrats again Jorge... One of my favorite TRF threads.
You really helped me reevaluate what I thought I wanted for a collection.
I love how your collection is so well thought out checking so many boxes with so few watches.
Currently my number is around FIVE (1-2 Pateks and 3-4 Rolexes).
I also ordered that Orbita Case (for 5 watches).
My goal is to keep from collection from flying out of Orbit-a...

Those are nice watches, Hulk is nice but i prefer Daytona C..... 5712R is probably my favorite Nautilus but i don't think i can own a Nautilus never again (none), as far the calendar watch I prefer the classic look of the 5146P (less modern than 5205) plus i love the weight of platinum.
But really we are getting picky here , the watches that you mentioned will make anyone happy, I think

its a good start , i was at 20 at some point ; now I look back and say to myself "what was I thinking" even with 5 watches is hard to really enjoy them (the week has 7 days) LOL

You gotta start on something that is logical and make sense to you; if you don't have that in your brain, you will never do it. Take your time

Good goal , Is hard, i know, believe me I know
ideal is a core of 3 watches and the number 4 watch to be used as a floater to keep the addiction under control

Cheers

I went down to 7 watches excluding the three vintage watches that were bequeathed to me.

Recently I went on completing my Rolex and Seiko Holy Trinity collection and I'm satisfied.

i agree with the 'few high class pieces theory'. currently i am down to two, the rolex GMT 2 pepsi and the PP 5712r. the panerai PAM 421 is on commission sale (nice piece, too big though, why didn't i realize immediately???) but the rolex DD 40 in yellow gold/silber diagonal dial will be picked up when i come back home in a month or so.
for a while i thought that will be it in term of watches but now i realized that i still need a PP 5524 (arrival next year), a PP AC 5146 (still this year) and a 5980AR (for the contrast of the blue dial and the rose gold - i find it sublime). this will be it then....welll:::)))) almost....

Sorry guys , it was like the end of an era with all these Annual calendars I have had over the years. I had own :5146G on grey slate dial, 5205R black dial , 5960P (twice), 5146G white dial , 5146P. Yes my favorite was 5146P, such a beautiful and underrated watch. If I could modify Patek designs I would make the 5146P with the 5170 lugs and white dial instead of grey. But yeah I was ready for a Chrono and I am very happy with it.
My collection is compact now but I feel it's so rich the way it is and even though my brain still wants to add something I just feel that adding anything it might ruin the perfect balance I have achieved with these 3.
So time to chill and seat back in the passenger spot.
Cheers
