Icon2 {*Official*} WG YACHT-MASTER 42 Picture & Discussion Thread! 226659 Stealth Wealth?

Ok Guys/Gals Here is the ROLEX YACHT-MASTER 42 Club.

This Watch is/will be a highly contested and discussed watch for It's broad appeal to Both Male and Female WIS, it's cost, and it's total Stealth and sporty appeal.

I have heard other talking, and they say that this is the Ultimate F-U Watch, due to it's cost and Low Flying Radar Capability. It doesn't Scream anything, but what it does do is... (to be discussed...)

42 May be the "New 40..."

I think this Monochromatic Beauty will be one of most Prized Watches in a forward thinking Collectors Collection.

Pleas post pics, news articles, and thoughts. I'm looking forward to it!

A 42MM Rolex in any configuration is NOT stealth wealth IMHO

The case/lug shape would suggest that there is more to come in terms of dive watches ;) I like the general appeal, but am and will probably remain a 40mm guy

I'd have bought one but hated the hands in person. The plots were made bigger and hands aren't proportioned very well for the increase. The minute hand is too narrow and seconds hand plot is too big. The hour hand isn't my favorite but passable.

In the end it was a pass for me. Maybe if they "MkII" the hand set and fix the proportions.

"Stealth wealth" though? That would be a G-Shock, not a Rolex. Money talks but wealth whispers. I'm not sure the YM42 qualifies.

Make this in SS on bracelet with a platinum dial and bezel and I'll buy one in a heartbeat, a 226622 Rolesium.

The bezel is PM, not ceramic. I am afraid that will look tired and worn very quickly.

Beautiful watch. Wish they would offer it in 40mm as well as 42mm. Also would love to get my hands on that glidelock clasp and put it on my WG Daytona on OF.

Was too big for me. I like it though. Would prefer 116519 for those colors and sizing
Patek 5167 and 5164 offer similar vibe and are more stealth

While I love me some YM, the price alone makes it a no go.

I love it......got it a few weeks ago and haven't taken it off. It's very comfortable and very much under the radar. I am able to wear it to work under a sleeve, which I can't say for many pieces.

The black bezel does make it stealth IMO.

Sorry not a fan. Never understood the purpose of the YM. Basically just a re-worked over Submariner. Meh.

Yes, there's room for more than 1 YM model in 42mm coexisting in different metals and colours.

You can’t tease us without pics.

Do the tapatalk app, go to rolex forums, and it’s easy to upload pics

This watch it completely the opposite of an F-U watch. However, I do agree it is stealthy...it's basically a larger Sub on a rubber strap.

Why would they do that to the Minute Hand?? The proportion's on the 40 RG YM are perfect and uniform, but on the YM 42 the minute hand is to narrow, and the seconds hand plot is to big!

We need to ask Bas (SearChart) what his Posse are doing

One of the most beautiful Rolex models in my humble opinion. If Rolex make this one in steal, I think the waiting list will be 5 years long.
I love the case design and size, hole to see more 42, 43mm models from Rolex in the future.

The Bezel is PM meaning Precious Material (Cerachrome) not Precious Metal.

From ROLEX:

Bidirectional Rotatable Bezel
The Yacht-Master’s bidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel is made of precious materials. The raised polished numerals and graduations stand out clearly against a matt, sand-blasted background. This functional bezel – which allows the wearer to calculate, for example, the sailing time between two buoys – is also a key component in the model’s distinctive visual identity.
