Inventory Syndication
it would be nice if there was a website that listed the available watch inventory similar to what Autotrader does for cars.
Wouldn't this make more sense than having customers resort to calling around various ADs ? Can't patek do this on their own website? Showing eta's of various models etc? |

It may get there. Some manufacturers are selling direct through chrono24 these days. Not Rolex or Patek of course

Getting a certain Patek not the question of avaliablity rather the person who makes the inquiry .

I can't imagine Patek ADs doing this for new watches. I can see some less expensive Swiss watch brands doing this though.

That would be fantastic. You could have an online waitlist, make direct purchases, sell back watches, purchase certified pre-owned, etc.
The companies seem stuck in a brick store model and I'd also like to seem them embrace e-commernce. |

So I wasn't really advocating a direct sale by manufacturer but instead ADs listing their unsold new and preowned inventory on a 3rd party site or the manufacturer's site that gets advertising fees- transactions can still be brick and mortar

I was educated in the American approach where AD will actually keep scarce safe watches in their safe (remember the 5611 Tyson story) abd then only sell to their best customers when they want to do so... this is treating a PP like a commodity which they are trying to convince us it isn’t
