I think Gray Dealers have much more than 20 plus don’t wear them, don’t have a watch rotation, they keep the stickers, don’t play around with them, don’t have specific straps for every watch they own, don’t know how they got every significant scratch, won’t prepare which ones to take in a trip, maybe they don’t even post in this forum........

IMHO I believe most Gray Dealers have no love for this WIS collecting hobby. Most of them I think all they want is easy money.........if you want money you got to work everyday and hard just my 2¢

I do, but I don’t know what would be the definition of a Watch Collector.....

Would it be consider to people that only collect high valued vintage historical timepieces???
Or any watch collection???

I just have this 2 vintage watches....
plus some more non vintage......

Yes I do. A watch collector is simply someone that collects watches and enjoy wearing them. Any watches, regardless of price point. I collect expensive watches like PP and APs that costs tens of thousand of dollars and also collect cheap ones like Seiko and Casio, and everything in between.

People ask why I collect watches. I tell them because it's cheaper than collecting ex-wives.

I would say a watch collector is someone who understands what they’re collecting and go after the essence of the watch not just the hype or the appreciation opportunity.

It is personally fascinating to watch a Rolex tool watch of the late 1960s, become an iconic
dive watch of the modern era. Standing the test of time with enough durability to
last 5 decades of tough usage-and watching "Women they will come and they will go" .
I have become a collector of service intervals-and paying more attention. Aficionado
de los relojes y mujeres.
