If it’s a coin flip, then the Explorer wins...period, full stop.

Between these two, the cases and bracelets look and fit very similarly to one another.

The Explorer has Professional hands and a matte dial, so it can present itself as a more "toolish" watch and still be every bit as elegant as the OP, in my opinion. To me, the Explorer's hands add lots of character and are a big plus.

The Explorer also has a nicer clasp with Easylink. Have you seen how Easylink works? Does your wrist change size much with changes in climate or activity? If so, then Easylink is valuable.

It comes down to which of these two models strikes your fancy!

The clasp on the OP just isn't as nice as the one on the Exp. Aside from the better lume of the Exp the bracelet because of the clasp is much nicer as said above.

You can get an easy link for the op39 via your AD. It's around 60 € and a very recommendable addition to any op.

If you are going to buy the moonwatch in the future, which will be with the black dial and having the blue dial tag, I would take OP with the white face. Will be very good color combination....

Awesome! I think that is the best option. Love the black dial, the 3 6 9, and the EZ link. Post some pics!

Moonwatch by far

The original Moonwatch on a black strap can't be beat. Period.

But that said, both are great pieces. You can't go wrong with either.

Tough call, they are both very nice watches and to make it more complicated different in their own right. I have a new Speedmaster and it’s a very compelling watch to own. The difference in the polished and satinised planes of the watch make it an intriguing watch to look at. It looks great on a NATO or a leather strap too and it is a very legible watch to look at. The only problem (for me) is the way the bracelet fits. It’s either too loose or take a link out and it’s too tight. That is the only black mark. I don’t have an OP but I do have a 39mm Explorer and I love it. Put it on and forget about it. Go somewhere hot or cold and you can manually adjust the bracelet to fit. It’s also got all of the Rolex DNA about it. The really good thing about your dilemma is whichever one you choose the other one will still be about and just as desirable and relevant as it is now.

Comes down to size. SM is pretty big at 42 and there’s hardly any taper on the bracelet. Got to wind it every day too. I have a SM but with hindsight I would go for the OP.

My moonwatch is +0.5 seconds per day. That's accurate enough for me

Well if you 100% want a Speedmaster in the future that'll be you black dial. So for some diversity white dial OP over Explorer.
