K guys I’m officially a Seiko fanatic.

The more I delve into this watch game the more I’m drawn to Seiko. It was a gradual realization for me that there were even quality watches outside of the usual heavy hitters like Rolex and Omega. When I got over the Rolex bug it was quite liberating to tell you the truth. The little machines on my wrist were a little more incognito and more just for me and less for others.. It’s funny because My collection ark has been a little erratic but it’s always been fun.
I’ve owned 3 Rolex’ and only have one left a Datejust . I’ve owned 3 total grand seiko but only have the Chrono left. I own two Girard Perregaux Laureatos a Panerai Radiomir. I own a King Seiko and an SKX007. I’ve owned two zodiac seawolfs and an Oris Aquis. I owned up until an hour ago a zenith Defy (which I absolutely loved but there were some movement issues that they couldn’t or wouldn’t fix, that soured me on my personal watch, which made it expendable). I owned an SLA 021 up until an hour ago, but since I was upgrading to another version it was expendable too. In other words I became a massive flipper and seller and buyer!!! Which I’m not that proud of, because money has definitely been lost, but it has been an incredibly fun exercise in figuring out the watches that really excite me and that I love.

And so with a little bartering and haggling I traded my Zenith Defy and SLA 021 for these two watches...which nets me another seiko!

The SJE073 Presage and the SLA025.

The 025 was me righting a wrong. I got the 021 not really knowing how much I would like it. In fact I freaking loved it, but deep down I knew I wouldn’t be satisfied until I got the 025. The case (that Monobloc case is beautiful) the dial with gold indices and incredible hi beat movement and heritage is what made me do it. And the SJE073 sort of replaces the Zenith with a slim metal bracelet watch with a great dial. I love it.

Anyway, on top of all that, I put a deposit down for the new SLA 033 that’s coming out at Basel which will make my seiko collection run to 6.

I’ve got a disease.

That's SLA025 is beautiful, Love to get hand the SLA033

The cool thing about Seiko is they're a vertical company just like Rolex which makes their own movements and their diver watches are iconic. These SLA's hold their value very well.

Just snagged a Seiko myself. Couldn’t agree with you more, especially on the liberating part. It’s nice to know you have spent thousands on high end and then find more reasonably priced beauty’s in a brand such as Seiko. Again, apples and oranges but still feeds the hunger either way lol...

I’ve found myself buying Seikos over the years as well. Rolex unfortunately, is out of my budget with the rates these days. That said, I’ve got my eye out for reasonably priced DJ.

I love the new prospex dive watches from Seiko.

Exactly...every single seiko you buy and put on your wrist you know that seiko made every last part on that watch. I think that’s kind of cool.

Congrats on the seiko! I mean seiko sells watches priced even in the mid tens of thousands, but that’s the beauty...they have things for everyone.

The prospex divers, after I really looked into them, are some of the best bang for your buck out there. And I guess Presage would be the classier equivalent to prospex.

That is a great photo. I’m incredibly jealous of that combo. Good job. Out of curiosity, how much were the 6105 and 62 mas?

I have also started on Seiko, here is my collection so far, sorry it was a quick photo. I am also collecting Citizen too. I still have my 2 Rolex watches but find myself wearing the Seiko or a Citizen more often.

I am a fairly new "collector"

I gotta be honest that my SKX007 gets as much wrist time as my vintage Speedmaster. Its an awesome watch that SKX is (and I dont have to baby it)!!!
