About 4 or 5 times a year I値l forget my phone at home on the charger or something, and I am so at peace on those days. Conversely, I know people who are on the brink of going mad if their phones aren稚 at arms length.

Yes, I work in mental health and see a very different side in my practice every day. My point being, they have to come up with ways to manage the negative effects of such devices.

No. Just no. Watches are an analog escape in a digital world. The last thing I知 going to do is strap some absurd smart band to a beautiful watch. Maybe they should do the opposite and market an official Rolex face for an Apple Watch! $500 dollars and a three month wait for the download!

I'm in that club too.
Last thing I want is more data being thrown at me.
Imo everyone's already approaching maximum data overload.

I have been predicting a Rolex pull-through sales stream of an Oyster Smart Clasp. It would be an AD add-on and fit any modern era Oyster bracelet.

Charger that restores the clasp in an hour or so (having a 72 hr. battery life).

BT connectivity to your phone/laptop/PC/Mac - and has integrated activity tracker. Solely a health app for now due to current state of CPU & battery tech.

But down the line it could integrate 5G or later mobile using voice control via BT standard protocol EarPods.

So, classic Rolex owners will not be affected. You still get a pure Rolex with no downside.

But next gen buyers can have it both ways without raising the cost of the watch itself. Trade-in a new Oyster clasp for a SmartClasp at a net-net uplift of $300-500.

Gird you loins fellas,
Don稚 become Luddites.

The dumbest thing like this I've seen is Sinn's strap that lets (lets?) you wear the Sinn on one side of your wrist and an Apple Watch on the other. I'm a total Sinn fanboy, but it's just ghastly.
