They’re miles apart in looks.
520 looks small dialwise, 500 looks large dialwise.
The same principle does not arise with the white dial, obviously as the 500 bezel is black.
I think white 520 and black 500.

I do not own either one but I like the ceramic as the markings will preserve much much longer (if the plan is to keep the watch). But if I would not mind owning either one.

I prefer the stainless steel bezel. It looks sharper to me. The ceramic bezel is too sporty for my taste.

I would go with the 116520 personally. I don’t see the added value in the 116500.

I don’t have the 116520 but from pictures and seeing it in the wild I will definitely pick the 116500 over it!
The ceramic bezel makes all the difference for me
Also durability wise the ceramic is much more scratch resistant

It depends on whether you prefer the other older non-ceramic references when you buy that inevitable next Rolex. I like 5 digit references so I bought the 116520.

I had the black 500 and sold it. For the newer watch, I’d go white. With the black dial, I’d go with the older watch. Just my taste.

black for 116520 and white for 116500 or 16520.
Contrast is everything.

If you can pay 21k for a steel watch, might as well stretch a bit more and get a PM daytona.

Big fan of the ceramic. SS scratches much easier it seems.

SS scratches easier than ceramic (said to be scratch resistant), but 18k scratches easier than SS

116500 for me as well. I was considering one or the other. I picked the 116500. I felt it was nicer.

What dial color did you get? Black or white?
