Incoming PAM 335

Picked this up a couple weeks ago.

Initial impressions:

Pros:
Very masculine watch. Love the domed sapphire and the 44mm size. In a pitch black room w’ lume fully charged the domed crystal provides a very cool ‘depth’ effect adding some dimension not present otherwise. The ceramic inspires confidence to wear without fear. GMT functionality very practical and user friendly. Date, which for me personally, is a must.

Cons:
Wish the case back revealed more than the bridge, balance wheel and spring. Smoked sapphire crystal on case back reduces visibility but maintains the overall ‘big black’ vibe of the watch. Also, although I haven’t purchased any additional straps yet, I feel like color choices on straps will be more limited than SS counterparts.

Other than that, I know ppl have complained about the 10-day power reserve on an auto wind, which definitely is unnecessary and gluttonous but, I personally still think it’s ‘cool’ and don’t mind at all.

Enjoying the new addition!

Very cool. Congratulations.

Re straps, you still have a lot of strap choices and can go wild with primary colours too if you feel like it.

Ceramic watches look fantastic on tan straps. The OEM Asso strap in particular looks good.

My absolutely second favorite PAM. So lucky! Enjoy and congrats. PS, there’s zero limitations on straps or colors for ceramic or carbo variations.

Can pretty much mix and match any strap. I’ll post some more with orange, dark brown, tan and light blue.

Wow. Hot watch and hot straps . Thanks for this.

Appreciate the comments and suggestions. Looking forward to getting to the boutique and trying a few different color schemes as things open up and inventory is back to norm.

With my 682 any color looked phenomenal. Was thinking more would not go well with the absolute matt blackness of the case, but, I'm optimistic!!

Thanks!

My favorite strap though is the black rubber diver with the Officine and Panerai that’s included in your pics above. It’s truly timeless and I personally think my 616 should have had that strap as launch.

Panerai has plenty of online stock as well. I recently got that Sportech strap with no delays and 3-day delivery.

The OEMs are pricy but find their quality and fit better than aftermarket straps.

Anyway you have an absolutely beautiful watch and that is next on my list of additions.

Looks great on you and congratulations! Big fan of the ceramic 44 PAMs. They're more strap versatile than you think - have a couple of different favorite combos for my 441.

The 335 isn't seen too often -- but it's pretty awesome, as your pictures help show. I've had mine for a few years, and I really enjoy it. I usually wear it with a tan strap; during the hot months, I had been wearing it with the "military green" rubber OEM panerai.

a slightly older pic of it, that I happened to have handy

Would you happen to know the case height or thickness of the 317 and how it compares to the 335?

anecdotally (as panerai doesn't seem to publish case thicknesses anymore?), the 317 is 19.3mm thick and the 335 is 17mm thick.

I suppose to help accommodate the extra complication on the 317. I would have thought the 335 might be thicker (i.e. pam270 vs pam233, as an example), given it is automatic and needs to contain a rotor.

I also thought the 335 would be thicker. Thanks a lot!
