Pretty cool. I'd still be checking the receipt for accuracy, but still cool

As cool of an idea, I go out of my way to get the produce and meat I like, so even if they opened one next to me I'd still be going elsewhere. If they follow the same business model as their current online platform and prices are competitive then it may REALLY change the world.

Thank goodness! I get so fed up of running to the store for a few items and waiting in line for SO long, even at the "express".

Very cool. I hate lines at the store. I am sure there will be issues just like in the vintage stores.

I do most of my shopping at Smith's and I also avoid high traffic hours, but I almost never have to wait in line at the grocery store and when I do, it's like for a minute.
Nonetheless, this is an idea that resonates with me, because the reason I shop at odd hours is to avoid lines, so if I could do that any time, day or night, I'd be happy. Amazon says their going to build 2,000 groceries and convenience stores nationwide. If anyone can make it work, they will.

Amazon Go?
That's interesting. I'm curious why they'd want to expand into brick n mortar when their success was built on the the idea of avoiding such a place.

Keep moving forward or get left behind. I love this idea. I'd personally love it if I could pay for EVERYTHING with Apple Pay and totally get rid of a wallet and all cash. This seems to take it to the next level. |

Great idea as it looks like this not only revolutionizes and competes with convenient stores but it will compete with some of the grocery store sales as well. I do wonder how accurate and problematic this technology will be however.

It's not really moving forward when you are going back to the business it was designed to replace. Amazon thrived and continues to thrive on internet sales delivered to your door. As a convenience store, it's a great idea but as a large grocery store, I see this as a compliment to the expansion of Amazon Fresh, their online grocery with delivery. I suppose storefront would bring additional revenue through foot traffic that would not be had in a warehouse You can go an entire day without pulling out a wallet or cash and simply using your phone in NYC and Miami. Whole Foods, Walgreens, fast food chains, Uber, etc. no doubt Amazon Go would take this to the next level I do love how if forces customer to put back items in the right spot though. |

Brick and mortar for the largest on-line player, IDK about that.

its laughable how much online represents of total retail sales. one of the worst things that a company can do is go public. it creates more good than bad. the only reason executives do it is to cash out big $.

Amazon Go?
My wife is making her way up working for Amazon.
I'm proud to say she is the bread winner in the family ha ha ha! It seems like every day she comes home and pitches me a new idea they are working on and I'm like, "wtf, THAT IS GENIUS!" Things such as the drone or even the above, Amazon Go, I'm not sure if or when it will take off. My theory is that it creates buzz, news, and then stocks go UP, UP, UP, again and again.
