Wife's Birthday!
My wife Jacqui turnewd 40 this past week, and yesterday was the party. We had about 25 people over and had them all in the house since it was only 8 degrees C out
We had all the guests bring a dish to eat instead of a gift, and we supplied the maple glazed salmon and jerk chicken, as well as the booze. It was a fun evening, although I'm feeling a bit rough this morning. In my haze last night I didn't take too many photos, but here's one of the ice cream cake......it was good! For a present I've been trying to get her another watch, but she likes her Cartier quartz and doesn't want anything else.... So, I had my jeweler friend make her a pendant in white gold with a pink sapphire - it's a really nice stone about 2/3rds of a carat and good colour: It was made to match the ear rings I bought her for Xmas last year - here is the set: And for John (Launch Mini) who advised me that I could trade one 40 y.o. wife for two 20 y.o. women, well, let's just say she wasn't too happy with your suggestion......LOL! |

Al,
Wish Jacqui a belated 40th birthday wish from me. Brenda had her birthday last week as well. (She says she stopped countingat 37). I took her over to Bahrain for a meal then we popped into the Golden Tulip Hotel, which is the former Hilton. Well it was free drinks for ladies night. (I know how to treat a girl) I told one of the waitresses it was Brenda's birthday and they came round with an impromptu cake and sang happy birthday for her. A very nice gesture I thought.

Cheers Al, to both of you! Nice set, love the colour. Haze? What haze? The cake didn't become you! (Remember, it's never the drinks, never...).

Thanks guys! Feeling better now after a lazy day of recovery.
Jacqui says hello and thank you all for the birthday wishes Frans, we even had some Dutch food brought in by one of the guests.....I think it's called Nisa and has rice, ground beef, and vegetables in it. It was tasty! |

That's what I get for being offline all weekend and yesterday. I missed all the festivities.
Happy belated birthday, Jacqui. Sounds like it was a nice celebration and, Al, it looks like you did good on the gift.
