5513 question
Hello one and all - I'm a newbie to this forum and am looking for advice. Do early 5513 subs have the o ring at the crown? In case you are wondering I just bought a 5513 that looks right, 1.2M serial with a clean 5120, case back marker III 65 but there is no o ring. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

The original does not have a visible o'ring when the crown is unscrewed from the case tube. It can be upgraded to the newer style of tube and crown.

Many thanks for that - I've been trained to zero in on the o ring and couldn't figure out why this was missing when the rest looked right. Thank's for the info.

G'day to a fellow Aussie - the 5513 has a gilt dial, that I fear has been refinished at some point in time. The "swiss" is no longer there (would break at least a couple of fingers for that). Now hunting around for a '65 rivet to go with it.

Mark - must be all that skiing and who wants to live by the beach in Sydney anyhow? Denver's a great town - 1.5 years and counting. Pics of the 5513 on the way.
Best, Alex |
