Hollow Ground Screwdriver Set

Just picked this up on ebay from Hong Kong. I was looking for a set and this one comes with 5 bits, the largest being 1.60mm, which worked great on my Oyster bracelet. Here is a link, if anyone is interested.

Reasonable price. I'd gladly spend more than that on one size for a quality tool for Oyster bracelets. Are you satisfied with the quality?

^If you want quality, why wouldn't you get this one for $20?

Though pricey, this one looks interesting since it has the correct blade shape, and also purports to be 1.7mm, which is a non-standard size yet the true size of the Rolex Sea Dweller tool #2100....made to precisely fit Rolex screws. That's why some people actually buy a 1.8mm blade and file it down to 1.7mm. I'd love to hear from someone who's tried this one.

Quality seems pretty good, especially considering the price. I cannot say for sure but the body feels like aluminum and the tips appear to be stainless. I like that it is thick, which offers some purchase when holding and turning.

I was originally looking at a single screwdriver but have some other needs for different sizes (ie. Cartier screws are tiny). With 5 interchangeable bits and the option to purchase others individually, it meets my current needs. The top pulls off and the bits fit into the body of the screwdriver.

Best quality and deal I have found is the 1.6mm Panerai screwdriver. Hollow ground, good quality and can be had for cheaper than the mentioned options above from any Panerai dealer.

Even better... Should not be charged more than $10 for one either way.

I got tired of them slipping Bergeon screwdrivers, so I bought a tool that makes sure that I always have perfect screwdrivers.

Click here to see what I got

This one is advertised as 'hollow ground' but the pics they have of the blades are flat ground.

Good find. I was actually thinking of making 1.7mm drivers myself and selling them on eBay, but my machining costs wouldn't add up for the quality I wanted - I wish someone here in the US would produce some....they WOULD sell. A lot easier than hunting down Horotec single drivers with appropriate blade from Ofrei! LOL

I just called Panerai, and they mentioned they don't sell them in store (they recommended that I pick them up from Amazon).

I have picked up a couple from Mayors Jewelers (big chain of ADs here in south east). Just walked in and told them I had misplaced the screw driver for my Panerai. Once they had one available for me, once they ordered one, took a few days. Each time I was charged less than $10.

The tool works great.

A couple photos might help with part number...
