OP

Try Gentleman's Republic REFINED. I recently cut my hair into a comb over with a part and wanted exactly what you were looking for.

Speaking as professional, use either a clay (matte) or pomade ( shine) depending on the look desired. If a little more hold is necessary then use a light hold hair spray to set. All of this is dependant on density and texture. I work with Aveda products and will always recommend them as I have found them to work better than others that are similar.

Uppercut or lockhart pomade. Go with water based if you don't want alot of residue but if you really want something that'll hold, I don't know of a product that will work without "showing up" in your hair or your brush.

I will check this out for sure.

Can you put it in wet? Or must hair be dry?

I use Davines sea salt spray... it does leave some white "powder" on a brush but just wash it off with water. If I dont use it...my hair is very fine gets messed up if I open the freeze door...with this stuff I wash it every other day....I wake up and it falls back into place....best stuff Ive ever used plus it smells great.

Have been using Baxter Clay Pomade for years now.

Works great for me.

Don't be thrown by the jar. It's very small, but a little goes a long way.

Another Crew user here. Fiber has exactly what I want. Decent hold with matte finish
