Glue Not So Super.

Remember the early adverts for this crap glue back in the '70's?

They used to suspend (Wait for it) a whole bloody car on just one drop of 'Superglue'

No,not really it was television boswelox!

This was in the days of 'The Golliwog' before the time when adverts about SunnyD drinks showed children with teeth, or at least their own bloody teeth.

The trouble is, the same Marketing company that told us Thalidomide was good for healthy bones was responsible for this utter fantasy superpoo glue advertising as well.

Superpoo has never, and will never stick anything other than Human tissue together, something it does with more tenacity than an angry Pit-bulls grip on your backside, although it also permanently bonds the plastics used to make the container, and lid, together in a scarily effective fashion too.Loctite great for gluing ars#s to toilet seats though. So guy just remember to put the toilet seat down when you have finished wink wink.

The packet advertising claims it sticks Wood, Plastic, Metal and then goes on to warn you not to put it near your eyes.
Like anybody ever fancied gluing their bleeding eyelids together?
Superglue has not, and will never work on Wood, Works only on the plastic mentioned above, and is as effective on Metal, as a Wheelchair on a bleeding gravel driveway.

My opinion of this astonishingly untruthful advertising, is that the person concerned, should have his old boy glued to the rear end of a female Pig on heat. And then sent into the guy Pigs pen, for a few days to be rogered and savaged most seriously

Amazingly, we still buy this sh!te by the gallon, and each time the story is the same;

A/ You break something, and some clever bugger comes along and suggests Superglue.

B/ Being a gullible old bugger, you buy some Superglue, effect a repair which holds perfectly for just about three and a half seconds, you end up looking like the Webbed bleeder from the Creature of the Blue lagoon.and then

C/ Throw the broken item in the bin where you SHOULD have put it originally.

But once you've mastered the arcane ritual of applying superglue you may have a friend for life . It's all about knowing whether to apply to both surfaces and hold, apply to one surface and leave it 5 minutes then hold or any of the combinations in between.Or if its broke don't fix it,bin it instead.

How true your words are. I've ditched the stuff and use Gorilla Glue when necessary.

Duct Tape. That is my answer to just about all problems.
It even comes in colours now. So , I picked up some black stuff. fixed the seam in my wifes convertible top
It even reattaches handles to broken coffee mugs. Looks like shyte, but it works

Even have a web site with some ingenious applications...

I ususally just end up with my fingers stuck together and still have the broken object. I remember the construction guy with his helmet glued to the beam way up in the air, legs kicking away. Question though, he had no chip strap on so who the hell cares if the top of his helmet was glued down, how did he stay in the helmet?
