AP ROC or Daytona C

Hi all

New member but long time lurker

I have a bit of a dilemma. We are in the middle of a house moved and our youngest daughter is about to start school so more fees and I’d like to free up a bit of money in the short term

I’ve decided to let one of the above go but can’t choose which one. Any input appreciated

I’d still have the Hulk and a Pepsi GMT if that makes it any easier to advise

Thanks

I'd let the GMT go, rather keep the other 3, otherwise the Daytona.

I’d say sell the ROC. Then you’re still left with a great trifecta of Rolex’s. I don’t know much about AP’s, but if you ever wanted to buy another it’s probably easier than finding another Daytona.

Sell everything but the Daytona C. Buy back when things allow. Family first.

I’d sell the Daytona. Make use of the inflated price. Chances are by the time you are in a position to buy back the hype has died down slightly you can buy back for RRP or a bit over,

Sell the ROC. They are easier to come by down the track should you decide to pick one up again. Also AP might, and just might start making their own chrono movement by the time your youngest girl starts high school.

If it is a 39mm ROC, it will only become harder to replace if you miss it later.

That fact you listed the Daytona as an opinion in itself means to me it’s not a true keeper so if you paid retail on it then sell and get the free money!

sell the daytona! You already have two sports Rolex model, you want the ROC for more dressy occasions. Nothing beats that brushed and polished finish!

How does what you paid for it change anything?

If you paid 30k or 5k how does that change the amount of money its worth now to free up?

In this scenario its impossible for any of us to judge your emotional attachment so treat the watches like a commodity, which is the most liquid and easiest to get in and out of? I believe thats the Daytona.

Is that’s a even a serious question!

If he paid retail on the Daytona he’ll be £4K up on the sale so that’s £4K he never had

Thanks for all the input so far. The ROC is the white 26331st. So in fairness, this would probably be the easiest to replace at a later date

The other option would be the Hulk and the GMT to go. I forgot to mention there is also a Kermit in the mix but I think I'd regret letting that go in the same way I do from when I sold my Zenith Daytona a couple of years ago. Doh!

Did you pay retail for all the watches? If so I would definitely loose the Daytona. By far the biggest return

Unfortunately Daytona not bought at retail. I'd make about £1000 on it

yep.

If its a financial decision then sell the one you will lose the least on or make the most on depending on what you paid.

IMO preference has nothing to do with this choice. Make the business decision.
