Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167R

I really want an Aquanaut 5167R but I do not want to pay the £12k premium. Does anybody have one? and how did you obtain it? Been refused at a couple of AD's already - about to throw in the towel for now.

Keep trying, it’s not as high in demand as the others.

Look into it now. I’ve heard the 5164R is selling at greys for retail. After having the 5164R fit 2 years; I’d take the 5167R over 5164R in a heart beat.

Is it anything like Rolex PM? I assumed as the resell prices are just as high for PM pieces, demand was equally as high as the SS models.

Where are you looking? The lowest I have seen is £15k premium selling at £54k.

Believe there's one in the classifieds for ~$40k, which is basically MSRP + Tax

You have to speak with great dealers directly. Never look online.

Wait a year. I have a feeling ADs will be more inclined to get you watches if you give it some time. Buyers market is here.

Where? One guy listed for 42.5k. I would likely pull the trigger at 40k.

Haha. It's still a small premium but if it was pristine and seller was reputable, I would do it. Who knows when I could get one from an AD, especially with the world locked down.

I’ve got my eye out for a 5164r. I’m curious why you prefer the 5167r? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Just something I began to notice after having them all.. I enjoy the thinner models in gold and the bulkier models in steel. Maybe I feel that way since i no longer have the 5167R and 5711R from the bunch.

Great collection and pictures @SimpleMan91, I like the rose golds in black straps!

OP, I personally bought my first Patek (5164R) about a month ago and it's true that it's relatively one of the "easier" sports models to acquire. I was very fortunate to be allocated one at the local AD within 6 months with no purchase history, it's a beautiful watch! With the prices adjusting the PM will always be the first and most affected; I would think that some of them might come quite close to MSRP but probably not MSRP or below. I don't think the extra premium is what will hurt but the chance to start a relationship with your AD, assuming that you want to purchase more in the future (it's a dangerous hobby). But if this is your one and done piece then the grey will definitely work. Good luck and pictures not if but WHEN it happens!

The 5167 is much thinner than the 5164 and wears more like a hybrid of a dress watch in a sportier case
due to its simpler dial design. Also there’s something about the weight of it that’s just right in balance with the clasp.

Thanks for those great photos! What a collection for sure!!

Is that a black or brown strap on the 5167r? I can't tell, and I assume both look good on the rose gold...
