Interesting. I think I’m one of the ones that got it early on and went undetected.

Colleague quote back in Late December, "got this cold and I think it turned into walking pneumonia. It's hard to breath."

Very interesting indeed. Under this theory, any of us could have been exposed earlier, had mild symptoms and developed antibodies.

If this is the case, I’d be interested in the author’s hypothesis as to why there was no exponential spread of the disease in the absence of social distancing. Every other place that this has taken hold, it had grown exponentially, as far as we know. While I have little faith that there is herd immunity in California, I advocate any studies we can do to arm ourselves with as much information as possible.

My wife flies a lot and had a flu like thing back in December with a nasty cough as well.
Anecdotal evidence of very little, but we talked about it a couple of weeks ago. I got that wrong. She corrected me and said she had it after coming back from Bangkok in October and had it for about 6 weeks. Apparently there is some evidence that different blood types have had different degrees of symptoms as well. |

More likely is that CA is benefiting from early and aggressive SIP policy and that the state is geographically large. At some point, I hope to have enough data points to see what the spread looks like by neighborhood. |

I live in a So Cal city 3 miles from an airport with direct flights to/from China. I live 2 miles from a large Kaiser Permanente campus. Hospital is quieter than normal. So far, we’re told 28 cases, no deaths.

I had a weird cough in December that was bad for about 3 weeks and took a good 2 1/2 months to completely go away. It started 2 days after I got back from near the bay area (I was just north of Walnut Creek).
I never felt sick, or had a sore throat, just an annoying cough. |
