Incoming: Seiko Pogue 6139

My wife purchased this Seiko Pogue for me for Christmas. The owner of my local AD had two of the watches in his personal collection and he had showed me them some time back. I asked if he ever wanted to sell one to please keep me in mind. He is a Seiko authorized AD and does a great business with the Grand Seiko models. The watch was serviced by Seiko and is all original. I purchased an Uncle Seiko H-bracelet to supplement the original bracelet as it appears finding an original bracelet might be as difficult as finding the actual watch. When it gets here I will report back but the reviews are good. I am enjoying the first vintage watch I have owned in years.

Super cool!

Not common for Seiko to service vintage watches, especially this old.

Congrats on the gift but he’s been somewhat economical saying it’s original!

I took my Pogue to Seiko Headquarters in Mahwah, NJ. They told me they do not service that model anymore. This was about 7 months ago. The only person I found was a guy in Colorado and he is 14 months out and it will cost about $800 including a new hesalite crystal. Mine just stopped working. It is about 45 years old.

The owner of the watch told me that Seiko had serviced this watch and his other watch like this. I thought they were beyond service by Seiko and he said that they did it for him. He is also a Grand Seiko AD and carries the other lines also. Might be a professional courtesy to a dealer.

Congrats William. That was my father's favorite. I have it - but it is in pretty bad shape these days. A great iconic watch.
